Its been going downhill since inqusition and andromeda I knew the writing would end up like this.

Yah but Veilguard compared to Andromeda and Anthem was basically a triumph. Like basically no bugs or day 1 100gb patch

an unbuggy release means nothing if the game is bland and a chore to play. Andromeda had some decent combat Anthem had neither both used an engine not designed for the games bioware makes.

The fact people seriously consider having a functional game at launch a triumph really just shows how far the game industry has fallen over the years.

I'm saying that it's both not really a triumph and a sad indicator of the current state of the industry that people consider it such.

It's like praising somebody in a cooking class for not setting fire to the oven, if everybody else sets theirs on fire it's notable but it's also still not a triumph; the bare minimum that can be reasonably expected remains the bare minimum even if nobody else hits it these days.

Why do I suspect most of that is because ' barely anyone played it ' .. an those who did either quit early.. or just dont care enough to send in the reports heh..

Game released not needing any patches and ran great. Looks amazing.
The game-play is really fun especially later game once you get to specialize.

Story was servicable. Not great. Not terrible. I really don't understand the pitch fork mentality around games these days. If its fun its fun. If its not fun then.. . move on?

I really don't get why people gut and franchise and destroy everything that I love just to push some agenda and make some easy money! I don't get it and I don't plan to get it ever in my life! You guys should stop hating the game I love you hear me *whiny noises

Eh, weren't there people running into issues with the game not letting them open up chests because it somehow forgot that they had already gotten the Lyrium dagger? They did patch that up quickly, but I remember seeing complaints about that.

Like i get your point but i don't feel the game was gutted in any way. This has been way more fun for me than the third and second games. The first will always be amazing just becasue it was the first.

But also the agenda thing - maybe im not far enough in the game (23 hours) but i can say i have not seen anything that has jumped out as an obvious agenda yet and im hanging out with that Tarsh character that people seem to hate on. Maybe it comes later? Maybe i'll be so disgusted and threatened by a video game characters identity that i'll suddenly agree and spend the rest of my days on steam forums hating on every game that im told to hate...... but i'm fairly sure im pretty close to the end of the game and that hasn't happened yet.

I will note that i haven't watched any videos or clips of any of this stuff just because i don't want spoilers so i don't know if there is a story line that is offending some people somewhere or a side quest i missed that is supposed to turn me into a queen.

You do you of course but i had a good time with this game so far and enjoyed it and will probably do another play through with a new class some time down the road once im through some of these new upcooming titles out next month.

This game wasn't made for me and wants to erase what made Dragon Age good so it's a hard pass no matter how hard you cope.

Glad this studio is shutting down. They made what they wanted and now they get to reap their reward.
