Have ADHD? This game is for you! Day dive for fish, or at night too. Tired of diving? Farm rice or veggies. Needing something fast paced? Open Bancho's Sushi for a fast paced challenge. Need some chill time? Hang out in the mermaid village playing games or getting to know the towns people. Need even more? Open your in game smart phone and play more games from Duff! Micro manage your menu and staff to try for the best party payouts! Literally so much to do :D

So my review is a Yes, because its a great game, but the final say so is, Im glad its over and I wouldnt buy another Dave Game.

So I played the game for nearly 60 hours, it was fun, tedious and all over the place.

Lets get just started with some of the things I didnt like, its easier to go over those since I just finished the game tonight.

- The game has so many systems in it. So many. It has a mobile game. Its a small farm simulator. A fish farm breeding game, it has a GAIYO or whatever its called, the game to raise a pet on a phone, cooking game, then hiring people, then managing a branch of the restaurant and it becomes exhausting.

- Then on top of all those systems it starts to become some adventure game while you are diving, with irritating bosses with move sets of, does this belong in this genre and dumb time wasting puzzles.

- Then add on, the expensive economy system. I stayed broke for most of the game buying crap. Sure there are lots of expensive dishes but then all the things you want to buy in the game are just crazy expensive.

- I missed the rogue-like tag before I bought it. Then found out you lose your crap when you run out of air. For as much as this game is easy going and your packing up stuff to take ashore, I could have 100% been without this. Especially when meeting a few of the bosses I would never had even thought I would be under prepared for, since, isnt this a casual game?

- Lastly, I think once you get down to all the subsystems, and requirements for sub-missions and tasks, this is quite a long game. I would argue maybe too long. For me as stated above, the adventure part of the game I absolutely did not enjoy. I dont want to do puzzles under the sea. Im here for the fish. The game isnt open world Ubisoft filler, and its not treading on the mobile game experience for longevity, but its somewhere in between. Its not a campaign you could just blow through since you need money to buy equipment and upgrades you need to go farther down, its a stepped approach which takes time.

So to sum that up, too many systems, where do the difficulty spots come into play and why did it have to turn into an adventure game...

Things I really liked

There were a lot of fish selection with their own moves, day/night cycle selection and ways to catch them, super fun. The restaurant management despite being bare minimum was hugely fun because it was a great addition to fishing. Poor Dave never got sleep. I thought the environments were small but I like that since then you could kind of memorize where you needed to go instead of it being randomized like the loot. The systems despite being overwhelming at times of, what do I do next, still added a nice touch to the game. There was a hands on cooking game, a rhythm game for the weapons guy, a small on land section that was frustrating as hell, escape quick time events and others. Overall lots packed into the game. Lastly, there is a certain amount of comedy in this game that is maybe understated. Its goofy and then on the nose and just overall a great addition to the game. It doesnt take itself too serious and is good for a chuckle for sure.

So yes, I did enjoy my time. I dont want to play anymore from the experience but I am super glad the developers did well with this game. Many thanks to you all.

the art style is cute, i love the pixel style and it blends really well with the 3D aspects of the game!

the managing aspects are a little tedious at parts, but i fully recommend this game 10/10 had the best time

100% completed the game, but I didn't enjoy what it had to offer later on. The core gameplay of this game is very fun and enjoyable, nice graphics, different style of situations every now and then, forward and enjoyable story but the more it goes on the more unnecessary things they keep on adding.

Like at first it makes you think you have free will of just catching fish and that's all, but later on it just starts feeling like a chore. They just add a little bit of this and a little bit of that and a bit of everything. It just gets annoying. At some points it even fully stops you from doing what you wanted to do, and just holds your hand.

Also time limited events are annoying. Yes, it has lots of content, the game will not end quick and you will spend a decent amount of hours. But there is just so much unnecessary content and time limited events that just makes more stressed, when it shouldn't have been the aim of this game.

so much fun, such a simple concept with a ton of love and care put into it. Only negative is I don't want the game to end (not tryna glaze). Bancho is literally the coolest dude with all of the exaggurated swagger of a black teen.

A fantastically fun game for all levels of gamers. It can be very challenging at times, but the most challenging missions are optional. The story is great fun, with a touch of fantasy to it. You really get to know the characters, and you can extend game play for quite some time, losing yourself in daily fish hunting and running the restaurant. It also takes elements from a ton of popular and iconic games and play styles, adding their own spin. It's a little bit Stardew Valley. A little Guitar Hero. Plenty of a restaurant simulator. A dash of Splinter Cell and Mechwarrior. And of course, entirely it's own imaginative story and game. This is now one of my favorite games. Cannot recommend it enough.

Dave the Diver is an excellent and relaxing game about shooting fish with a harpoon gun. I enjoyed the variety of the characters and the game-play is very clean and fun. The game throws a lot of information at you really quickly but does a solid job of familiarizing the player with the mechanics before just turning them loose. The music does a great job of setting an oceanic atmosphere during the dives and is groovy during the evenings when you sell your hard-earned fish. I'll give it a nice and soothing 8/10, I wish there were more cats to feed.
