Jumplight Odyssey pauses development of game indefinitely.
Its a dead game, do not buy.

I bought this game based on reviews and also out of support for the Devs who have clearly had a tough break.

Ok, so, its 90% complete and fairly buggy - I knew that.

To say I was not disappointed is a massive, massive understatement. This game is truly awesome and would easily have ranked among my favourite games of all time had it been complete,. The premise of the game is amazing and the execution should have been equally good with proper testing and tweaking.

Easy to play and hard to master, everything has to be balanced from resources to pop capacity to route taken and which upgrade to apply when in forward planning. Get one out of balance or wrong and life gets difficult very quickly. The pressure applied by the protagonist increases ten fold throughout the play through as they are hot on your heels.

There is a more sedate playthrough mode to get to grips with resources management without being chased across the galaxy by the evil Zutopans.

As stated in one of the other reviews, a cross between Star Trek and Battlestar Galactica, This game should have been a great, in its current state it still scores a 9/10 with me I will keep coming back to it. I hope one day it will be finished - So say we all.

Cracking game, even in it's current state. If you're an 80's kid that loves space travel, strategy and base building, this game ticks those unique group of boxes. It's very solid in the current state, would have been fantastic to see where the developers would have taken it.
