I got the "no more room for plants" notice. Is there anything I can do to get more "room"?
To be clear, I actually have plenty of room. I just now fixed the bridge. But it won't let me plant anything anywhere because I seem to have hit the plant limit.

You can`t get more room sadly. The only thing you can do it remove planted flowers with the shovel.

Oh well. I don't really want to do that. I like my garden a lot. Guess I'll take a break and hope they raise the limit later. Thanks for your answer.

Same here. I left a review and mentioned this as one of the Cons of the game. I was sad having to remove and destroy areas of where I decorated with a ton of flowers but it all turned out even better than before. I guess the trick is to plant minimal number of the same plants (i had like 10+ of the same for aesthetics)

I have just reached the plant limit and although I could plant all three areas (behind the bridge and in front of the greenhouse) now, I only see a lot of grass around the pavilions.

The limit, especially what it is set at now, is not a great idea even if they determined that going much over that tanked performance on lower end PC's. There have been, and are, many great games out there that let you build as much as you want, and if you get to a point where your computer slows down, you just start adjusting from there. That's a better way to do it. I'd hate to think of something like Planet Coaster or Satisfactory putting a hard limit on how much you can do. Sort of ruins the fun. I want an English garden done my way.

I know the capability to trim the plants adds a lot of processing, but my computer wasn't even close to struggling when I hit the limit.
I've been playing in the story mode. I still have to unlock the greenhouse, but just got the space on the other side of the bridge. I was feeling very cramped before and had used very little of the cute ducks, gnomes, seating and such. I'm enjoying the more space, but have had to take some out and replace others.
That said, I would really like it if there was some kind of increase as the spaces opened up.
I'm about to begin the creative mode. You start with everything that way. I don't know if there is a limit there. Anyone tried it?

Yes. It´s the same. Tried it.

MAYBY it´s a little bit more than in story mode...
I counted the flowers in my story garden and could only find 300-330 flowers. But they are scattered and maybe I missed some.
But in creative u get 99 of all the seeds so it´s easy to count based on this information. I took 500 Seeds and after 400 in creative I got the message.

I got the message in creative after 210 plants. I did a creative where I put every plant in rows so they would be easy to count.
Shrubs/bushes like Hydrangea, Roses Count more towards the bar filling up I noticed. I will have to test this and see exactly the difference. There should not be a limit at all on this game. if I want 100 Rose bushes, I should be able to. Some of the Quest in story even want you to plant 10 of said type. You also have to plant quite a few to get the other variants too. Even with super fertilizer. Im stuck on the greenhouse quest because im near the limit and have to get certain colors but are not getting them.

you can place down flowers that you crafted which do not count as planted plant I like doing that to fill in some spaces

Hey everybody. I added your feedback to our list for our developers. The plant number has been limited in order not to overload player's machines, which can lead to increased crashing as systems run out of memory because of all the plant models.

We're currently conducting tests on our Discord to see how machines react if we increase the plant limit.

Just put a button in the settings menu - "Remove plant limit - warning, this might result in the game crashing due to lack of memory on low end systems". It's Unreal engine - I've seen it render factories in Satisfactory... I'm pretty sure it can take a bunch of flowers in a garden.

PS: I got to this point to, my garden feels kinda empty - there'a ton of space everywhere but all I can do at this point is spam decorations or something. Flowers have hundreds of variants - it's not possible to have them all this point because you would have to have one of each and this would make doing jobs almost impossible.

This is a major downfall of the game. I've hit the limit and I have all this empty space. It's very disappointing. I love my garden and don't want to have to tear it up just so I can fill up the empty spaces I only just opened up. :( It's enough to make me not want to continue playing.

An option to set the maximum plant count ourselves would be really great! :2015holly:

Disney Dreamlight Valley did this as well for their maximum item count, irrc. Planet Zoo has a similar situation with its visitors. They eventually implemented an option for this as well. City Skylines has it as well for their traffic/cars.
i also hit my plant limit before crossing the bridge i created beautiful garden in the starting area, i was hoping that we had separate limit for each area but sadly no, would be great to have option of no plant limit for pc players to choose
