We are a father-daughter duo that have always played these games together, so this is our joint review.

The lack of detail in the graphics for the world design was a bit disappointing. Yes, yes, the light features and unnecessary dust particles floating around are great gimmicks, but I would have been happier if more time was put into adding details in things like the potato pancake food stand. I will say that the graphics that ARE there are good though. It just feels to me that the time and effort that they put into the light graphics could have been dispersed more evenly throughout the game design. We would have been happier having the game sooner, with less inconsequential, fancy visuals added in.
We do however like that the characters move more naturally and seem less robotic. When we approached Marek in the cafe he turned his head to look at us, even though we could not interact with him at the time; little details like that make a big difference.

We originally tried playing in classic mode but ended up switching over to modern because the game play was just too difficult and frustrating in classic.

Oskar's artifact was also confusing. We could see it from the very beginning of the game and we tried every combination for the orbits (including the correct one), found all the R's around town, and nothing ever showed inside the white circles until waaaaay later in the game. Why even bother letting us see the artifact? It felt like it should have only appeared later in the game when you were actually allowed to solve it.
The story line was good, and we understand that for the story the puzzles make sense, but we miss the older games that had more puzzles and side tasks. It felt like they missed an opportunity to have a little side game of making the traditional potato pancakes, which would have been fun! It did feel like game 34 had more puzzles than game 33, which thank goodness for that!
The historical information was really great and we enjoyed learning about the history of Prague!

I have been a long time fan of Nancy Drew for almost 18 years now. I can say this game blends the old with the new. At times, the puzzles were difficult with little to no instruction, but the storyline is thrilling. I think most fans who do not recommend this game, do not want the collection to take a new direction. I feel this game is much better than the last game, and I think with more detail and tweaking with the next game; then we will have something revolutionary. Give the developers time to change a few things around.

I am a HUGE Nancy Drew fan - I've played almost all of the games, and I have my favorites and my least favorites. This one is decidedly at the bottom. The gameplay and the design is bad- we had look up hints and cheats so much just because we weren't clicking on exactly the right spot. It felt like it was a rush job to put out and it reflects that. I would only recommend buying it on sale, and even then play every other game first.
