Hello, this seems like a problem with hardware, as it's the first time I hear about a problem like that. I would recommend to refund the game.
Before the refund you could try:
1. Update Graphic Card Driver
2. Verify Game Files
Go to your game library.
Right-click the game > Properties > Local Files > Verify Integrity of Game Files (Steam).
This process will repair any missing or corrupted files.
3. Run the Game as Administrator
Right-click the game’s shortcut or .exe file > Properties > Compatibility tab > Check “Run this program as an administrator.
4. Reinstall the Game
Uninstall the game completely and reinstall it.
The reinstall worked thank you!
I'm happy it worked for you :)
I've been waiting for what a patch that would address the system crashes this causes for about two months. I finally found a way out without force restarting the entire computer. Since I can't switch tasks while frozen in the game, I can't gain access to task manager, and all related commands (ctrl+alt+del, ctrl+shift+esc, alt+f4) are unresponsive, I managed to figure out that opening a different desktop, then viewing all open apps and desktops (windows+tab), the moving moon mystery to a new desktop, I could finally get out without losing all my data.
I will try updating drivers and following these steps. If I reinstall will my saved game remain in tact with steam?
