Hello everyone,

We’re here to wish you a very happy Next Fest, and remind you to keep your eyes out for our cozy little train game! To thank you for your continued support we have dropped an updated demo today, alongside this brand new trailer:

We’ve had a lot of fun working on this, making improvements and additions, but ultimately making sure there’s plenty of creativity to be had! Here are some new features you can expect to find in this demo:

15 new nature tiles (including plants, cliff/rock pieces, fields)
15 new buildings (farming, inner city, watermill, sawmill)
3 new waterfalls
10 new track pieces (including a crazy 720° slope)
5 new train engines
8 new wagons
7 new bridges
7 new tunnels
4 new train platforms & stations

The scarily official "Request-more-game-assets" - Thread (NO FEATURE REQUESTS)

Hey there, you lovely train-lovers. It's pretty simple. Even though my personal asset-list is thiiiiiiiiis huge, I thought our players surely will have some cool ideas for items/elements that I'm just totally overlooking and would absolutely benefit our tiny game :) Keep in mind a couple of things, though: 1) No promises your suggestions will see the light of day ! 2) The games it meant to be in the countryside/alpine regions with a focus on coziness, so atm, we do not plan to add in hard industrialy/urb...

Christmas Demo Update is now live!

Hey everyone,

We hope December has been treating you well 😊

Tis the season for eggnog, a warm wooly blanket, and cozying up in front of a relaxing game, so we thought we could celebrate with a brand new update to the demo!

We had so much fun making new assets and features, there's a chance we went a little overboard 😅

Here are the new features you’ll find in the demo:
🎄 Everything’s covered in Snow!
🎄 Specific Xmas/Winter-themed items and buildings like Rudolf the Reindeer, candy canes and ginger bread decorations, Ice Rinks and even a Ski Lift!
🎄 UI overhaul
🎄 12 new train engines and wagons
🎄 24 new and exclusive Christmas assets

Planes, Trains and Automobiles Fest - and us!

Hey everyone,

We hope you’re well and have been enjoying the extended demo since our last update 😊

This is just a really quick post to let you know we are participating in the Planes, Trains and Automobiles fest starting today. We haven’t been able to update the demo (we’ve been hard at work on those exciting things we posted about last time), but we hope the event puts our little passion project in front of more people.

If you have just arrived because of the event, hello we’re Akos & Fabian, and we are so humbled you decided to stop and have a look at Islands and Trains.

We’d love to hear what you think, so please do give the demo a go and let us know either in the Steam forums or social media.

Could be more user friendly/smart

It looks nice but it is not quite there interface wise, starting with the tutorial. It asked me to do a high bridge without showing me what to place! It should highlight what you need to select like other tutorials. Secondly not being able to drag out track (perhaps because bends are large) makes it much harder to quickly make a track layout. Adding large pieces often fails because there is not enough land or the right space beneath. Can you not just add a few land pieces automatically to support a new lar...

Holes in landscape upon reopening demo

For some reason, whenever I close the demo. When I come back to it later several single square holes have randomly appeared. Usually going straight down to the sea, and removing anything that was on top, usually a large piece of scenery or track. Is this a known bug?...

"Autoreplace" when placing stations and such

It would be handy if placing things like stations that feature tracks of their own on pieces of track that mirror those wouldn't require deleting the track first. So you could just pop a station down on a straight piece without deleting anything

Loving the New Demo!

Just played a bit of the new demo, and it's been amazing to see all the additions and details ya'll have added so far! (If I had one small complaint, it's that the parallel tracks switch doesn't appear to work both ways/doesn't have a mirrored version. One minor thing!) Also love all of the premade track pieces, ESPECIALLY when it comes to inclines and tunnels. Will make building mountainous railways a lot easier; and prettier, too! I also appreciate all the different engine options, all very unique and ...
