A Middling Experience: Fun for Casual Play, but Lacking in Depth

This game is exactly why I wish Steam had a more nuanced rating system. I can't wholeheartedly give it a thumbs up because, honestly, it falls short in nearly every category it promises. But I also hesitate to give it a thumbs down, because for what it is—a casual gaming experience—it was enjoyable. The problem is that it doesn’t excel anywhere and feels mediocre across the board.

COMBAT:
It's there, but barely. There's no real challenge, as most enemies don’t even bother attacking, and those that do are easily avoided.

METROIDVANIA:
While it’s tagged as one, it doesn’t feel like a true metroidvania. Sure, it looks and somewhat plays like one, but there’s no real backtracking, no secret paths, and no hidden items. At least, I didn’t find any. It’s honestly pretty linear.

PRECISION PLATFORM:
Yes, there’s platforming, but challenging? Not at all. It’s probably one of the easiest I’ve played. Depending on what you're looking for, this could be good or bad. If you crave difficulty, you're in for disappointment.

PUZZLES:
Maybe this is where it shines? Nope. The puzzles are simple, and I was never stumped. Are they fun? Sure. But if you're expecting any level of complexity, you won’t find it here. If you’re okay with breezing through them, you might enjoy it.

STORY:
Not much to see here. There's some dialogue, but it veers into cheesy territory more often than not. The basic premise? Arrive at a base in chaos, save some GMOs, escape. That’s about it. The game also ends with a "To be continued..." which felt hollow. A cliffhanger works if there's a compelling story, but there just wasn’t anything worth continuing here.

BOSS BATTLES:
Nothing memorable. They’re easy, repetitive, and die quickly without much effort.

CUTE & SCARY?
Cute? Yes. Scary? Huh...!? There's nothing scary about this game.

CHASE SCENES:
I counted three. They were genuinely fun and the most exciting part of the game. Unfortunately, they didn’t last long.

PLATFORMING:
This is the strongest part of the game. The levels are well-designed, the jumps are fair, and I never felt lost or trapped. If you're looking for tight, fluid platforming, this game delivers. However, the sheer number of instant-death scenarios gets annoying fast. It breaks the flow and adds frustration where there doesn’t need to be any.

FINAL THOUGHTS:
If you’re after a light, casual experience, you'll likely enjoy this. But if you're seeking any form of challenge in any category, you'll probably walk away disappointed.
