Our Way of Communicating with You
Hello Paxians!

If you’ve ever found yourself trying to know what’s coming in Pax Dei, waiting impatiently for us to announce a bug fix, or simply wondering what’s brewing behind the scenes, this blog is for you! We’re here to shed some light on our communication magic.

The Honest Truth: We’re All About Transparency

First things first: we believe in keeping it real. We value transparency like a dragon values its hoard. If there’s something we know, you will undoubtedly know at some point. If we’re still figuring it out, well, we’ll let you know that too. Communication is a two-way process, and we constantly try to inform you as soon as possible. However, sometimes, we need to stay quiet because we are not sure and don’t want to make false promises, and sometimes, we can’t let you know because we must keep some secrets.

We get it! You want updates, details, and news faster than a teleportation spell. But here’s the deal: we’re a small, passionate team. What we lack in numbers, we make up for with dedication. We pour over every detail we share, ensuring it’s as accurate as a master craftsman’s handiwork.

Talking about stories, details, and transparency, have you had a chance to read our stories from the War Room? Our LiveOps team is always eager to explain what’s going on, and they have quite a talent for telling stories:

The “Why?” Behind Our Pace

Bug Fixes: The Not-So-Instant Spell

Ever wonder why some pesky bugs take their sweet time to be squished? Imagine bugs as sneaky badgers that hide in our code.

We have to:

- Identify the badger – Is it really there, or just a shadow?
- Understand its mischief – What exactly is it doing, and who is it bothering?
- Reproduce the problem – We have to trick the badger into showing itself again.
- Isolate it – Lock it down so it can’t hide elsewhere.
- Fix it – This is where the badger gets squished!
- Test the solution – Make sure we did not breed new badgers in the process.
- Deploy it in-game - So that affected players are not bothered anymore.

This process can be super quick or sometimes take longer than it would take a non-Latin speaker (including most Mainframers) to pronounce Pax Dei correctly. But rest assured, our teams are on it, wielding their fixing wands with fervor.

Content Updates: A Potion that Takes Time to Brew

We know you’re eager for new adventures, things to discover and explore, and new features in Pax Dei. Believe us, we’re just as excited to share them! But crafting content is like brewing a delicate potion – it requires precise ingredients, meticulous stirring, and a lot of testing to get it right. Sometimes, it can also take months between the kick-off of a feature and its full working implementation - who said horses?

We prioritize delivering as much polished and thrilling experiences as possible rather than rushed ones - even if sometimes we prefer a first clunky implementation over nothing. So, we thank you for your patience as we perfect every new addition.

- In-game: Report issues and bugs straight from the field (via F8).

Your Feedback: Our Treasure

We cherish your feedback like rare items. Here’s what makes us jump with joy:

- Constructive Feedback: Let us know what’s working and what needs tweaking.
- Fun Anecdotes & Adventure Stories: Share your cool in-game moments, whether when fighting foes or encountering new friends in-game!
- Screenshots: Show off your favorite sights in Pax Dei.
- Player Tips: Help fellow adventurers with tips and tricks.

Every piece of feedback helps us make Pax Dei a better place for everyone! Thank you for these. You already made more than we can process in a timely fashion.

We use several methods, quantitative and qualitative, to process your feedback. Dedicated devs can look for specifics through F8 or Discord, QA can investigate bugs better because of your reports and game designers can change their minds on a system while reading your opinions and stories… The hiccup is we can’t respond or assess everything. And of course, we can’t implement everything you suggest. Not only because it would be too much, but also because some of your feedback is great and smart but irrelevant to the game, some are contradictory - we really can’t make a single-player-mmo - and finally, there is a lot we agree with them, but we can’t implement them yet - yes we should be able to use either red or yellow onions for some recipes.

No matter what, this does not mean you should stop. Your feedback is invaluable.
Remember, though, that while we appreciate all feedback, we ask that you remain polite and respectful of our teams, our work, and other players.

Thank you for being an amazing part of our community. Your passion fuels our magic, and together, we’ll continue to make Pax Dei an exciting world for everyone!

Pax vobiscum,
- The Mainframe Team
