Fixed a Co-op issue where clients could not see the Gazelle in 'Inspection Duty'
Fixed an issue for clients where the Leopard and Union Dropships would not animate in ‘Inspection Duty’
Fixed issues for clients where doors would not replicate properly in various missions
Fixed Co-op issues where capture circles would be present before or after objectives in various mission
Fixed a Co-op issue where clients would see an extra Union Dropship in 'Heir to the Dragon'
Fixed a client issue where the garage scanning was not being replicated in ‘Pacification’
Fixed a client issue where the Dropship takeoff would not replicate in ‘Pirate’s Bay’
Fixed a Co-op issue where the Gazelle would not replicate properly for clients in ‘No Holds Barred’

Fixed issues with unlocking several trophies on PS5
Fixed a console progression blocker in the mission ‘A World on Fire’

VFX
Adjusted the giant explosion in 'Touchdown'
Improved the explosion effect at the end of ‘Trial of Position’
Added additional water effects on bridges in several missions

AUDIO
Improved and adjusted many of Mia’s Banter dialogue
Improved Mia’s dialogue quality in the first Huntress mission
Added a mission Jayden line in ‘No Stone Unturned’
Fixed bugs where the overheat SFX would not always play
Removed a characters incorrect banter dialogue lines

GAMEPLAY
Fixed a bug where the target box would go missing when overheating and going into the Battlegrid
Fixed a bug where night vision carried over to the following mission
Adjusted AI so they can better execute repair bay orders
Fixed a bug where unlocked melee weapons could not be equipped to hand actuators
Fixed an issue where sometimes after using a repair bay the users HUD will disappear
Improved Mechbay warning and error messages
Improved collision on some tree assets

UI
Fixed a bug in the Marketplace where controller users could not navigate the Sell menu
Fixed instances where restricted equipment could be selectable
Added a warning prompt when attempting to sell all 'Mechs
Fixed cut off icons in the splash screen
Adjusted the settings menu so users are unable to unbind primary KBM input actions
Fixed a bug where the ESC key would no longer function
Fixed a bug where you are able to interact with elements under the Private Policy/EULA pop-ups
Fixed flickering in the notifications menu when interacting and scrolling
Fixed controller Icons when using a PS5 Controller

PERFORMANCE
Improved performance/framerate with cockpit view in many levels
Improved performance in Mission Central
Reduced hitching in loading screens

CINEMATICS
Improved a characters hair in ‘A Cause Worth Fighting For’
Adjusted the length of the cinematic 'No Matter the Cost'

LOCALIZATION
Adjusted the Timber Wolf notification in Japanese

Clanners are a ritualistic and tribal society incubated in combat and trials by fire. There's supposed to be a spiritual aspect to the Clanner Warrior and I dont get any of that from these characters. This is supposed to be the Clans. Smoke Jaguar no less. Not Star Trek or whatever these people are supposed to represent. Clanners are arrogant and smug, pigheaded and ruthless. Quick Run Down for the first hour:

+Much more story driven and focused than recent entries into the series
+Beautiful graphics and game design overall
+Combat feels smooth and natural, especially with experience in previous Mechwarrior games
+Excellent Sound

=Strange character design, can feel somewhat uncanny
=Mech pacing feels unusual, especially with previous experience

-Poor optimization, framerate chugs and character 'shake' in close-ups
-Without Mechwarrior experience, overall learning curve can feel very unguided and difficult to grasp and comprehend
-Models of mechs overall leave some to be desired, can feel crude and 'raw' compared to previous entries

Overall, very excited for the most recent release in a long loved franchise, and enjoying my experience thus far. Recommend for any newcomer and returning veteran alike.

If you are a Mechwarrior/BattleTech lore fan you are GONNA GET UPSET at the story. This feels like ComStar anti-clan propaganda. You are also still likely to buy it.

If its your first MechWarrior I promise the mechbay isn't typically this bad, I expect it it get fixed.

Mech go boom, explosion very bright and pretty.

Mechwarriors likely to MechWarrior.

My only concern is I have not yet seen an Urbie. I can't live without my trashcan.

MW5 Clans is a VERY different beast from Mercs. You're part of one of the major factions and not an independent barely scrapping by. You're not concerned about salvaging a centuries old mech held together with bailing wire and duct tape; you can simply acquire a much better one fresh from a factory. As such salvage has been heavily abstracted. Would I like to fill an IS mech with Clantech? Sure. Is that thematically appropriate for the story? Not even a little bit.

The mechlab is a lot more complicated but so are the mechs. Some equipment on Omnimechs is fixed; those jump jets you always removed in Mercs to free up tonnage? Yeah, you might be stuck with those. On the plus side Omnipods allow for a MUCH greater level of customization. Want to turn you starting Viper into a missile boat? Go for it. All lasers? Yeah, you can do that too. They stuck close to the lore on this one and, depending on your tastes, this is either a very good of a very bad thing.

You can tell that most of the VAs aren't using their natural accents but the, lore accurate, lack of contractions is far more jarring than inconsistent pronunciation of Jaguar.

Final thoughts:

This story is mostly on the rails but that's the price you pay for a MUCH better story.

Game requires some horsepower; if you're thinking that it may be time to upgrade soon you'll probably want to wait.

Some features need a little more time in the oven so unless you're a Battletech junky like me you'll probably want to wait a few months for patches to flesh things out.

You're clan mech warriors. Live or die by the battlemech. AKA Klingons in mech warrior games. Now why in the flying ♥♥♥♥ are main characters whiney genz teenagers... F to my immersion.
