"Updating Executable"

so i decided to play again but when i launch i just get that in steam. Any idea how to fix?

Edit: so it seems that it has been solved as it works for me now and im assuming everyone else. Good work spreading awareness guys. Hopefully it means we can now not miss that 95% flank shot

Trying to figure this out myself. Just reinstalled the game and updating executable.

I've tried
1: Verifying file integrity
2: Reinstalling the game
3: Running in compatibility mode
4: Changing to windowed mode via config files
5: Updating drivers
6: Running as admin
7: Restarting computer
also I'm using Windows 11 so thats probably not helping anything
Nothing has worked so far, kinda bummed out about it tbh

After years, I tried replaying this game. I'm surprised there's a thread up with the same issue I encountered within 1 hour lol. Anyway, I also tried everything I can, but no luck.
