Holds up in 2024. One of the best games I've ever played

So here we are, rolling downhill towards the buttend of another year, and at this point - while waiting for other games to drop - I decided to go back and take another swing at the 1st Dishonored. And what can I say - here it is, a 12 year old game which is still better, start to finish, than 80% of the 3rd/1st pov RPGs that are out there. Of course, my machine runs with an I7 now - no great shakes really, but D1 runs silky smooth. It remains a pinnacle of gaming, with coherent background, design, storytelling, combat mechanics, dialogue, voice acting, art style, milieu details and lore - in comparison many other games just feel so underdone and meagrely presented.

The narrative DLCs are just as sharp and on the ball as the main game (though I didnt do the Dunwall Trials, not really a fan of arena style stuff). Cannot recommend Dishonored highly enough, along with the successors too. The entire collection is a huge achievement in gaming and storytelling - and its baffling that Bethesda/MS are just letting it lie in abeyance.
