Same for me. Disapointing.

I changed resolution from default to native (or vice versa) and that helps 50% of the time. Not a proper solution but it might work for you.

I also get this problem.

I don't know if this is a workaround, but I've managed to get it to start consistently now by:

- changing the resolution per =HellFire='s post, until it starts
- once I got it to start, I disabled full screen video in the game's video settings

At this point, subsequent starts worked for me on the Deck.

Same here. Starts with a black screen (and music playing) in Ubuntu 22.04. :(

Switching the compatibility tool from proton to steam linux runtime fixed it for me.

same problem here. ubuntu 22.10. installed the fame today. Neither linux RT nor proton XP fix the issue. Could not find where to change the resolution as advised by -hellfire-

I get this too on brand new Steam Deck (arrived yesterday).
So far the first attempt to play led to a blank screen (initially confusing till I figured it was a bug). Then launching a second time let it work and I could play for about 40 mins. Then today nothing works to launch it... I've rebooted (fully), I confirmed the Deck is fully up to date (it is) and nothing seems to do the trick.

Am using standard settings out the box, nothing fiddled with on the Deck or with game settings either. It's installed to the internal SSD (256Gb)

same here... had to restart the game a few times. proton experimental seemed to work a bit.

I just bought this game for a flight I have tomorrow, but I get black screen when trying to start the game on Deck.

Pretty annoying for game that is "Verified".. tried several different proton versions, doesn't help.

turned everything back to default (proton version etc.) started the game with no problems the last few times. but there were two software updates on the deck itself. maybe it depends on that.
