Without doubt, the best Star Wars game ever made.

Kotor walked so Kotor 2 could break the sound barrier making Chris avellone look like the best videogame writer ever.

I played this game for the first time in 2015 and it hasn't left me since. I don't think I've ever played something with this level of dedication to telling a tragedy (except maybe Dragon Age 2?). I recommend this to anyone I know that likes Star Wars or RPGs, it's just THAT good.

Just like the first game, KOTOR II is clunky and outdated in some regards (get mods like Restored Content mod), but is absolutely worth playing because of its terrific story, character development, and atmosphere.

Its tone is noticeably different from the first game--KOTOR I has a much more optimistic and traditional plot, while TSL has a darker, more introspective story. Many characters are disillusioned with both the Jedi and Sith, seeing them as two sides to the same coin. There's a lot to unpack in the different characters' feelings towards both factions, exploring their philosophies and motivations was fascinating and offered a more complex narrative than what I'm used to in Star Wars games. The tone of KOTOR I really encourages a light side play style (for me), whereas KOTOR II's darker, morally ambiguous narrative blurs the line, which adds new perspective to the decision-making and role-playing for me.

If you enjoyed the first game, TSL is definitely worth playing.

good great game. Beat it on xbox and did a sith run. got so overpowered near the end and destroyed everyone. very fun and lots of ways to customize your character like your lightsaber.

While the game requires modding to fully appreciate in it's whole and intended way, the experience has been wonderful! My only qualms as of now are the lack of any gauge that shows your companions' influence and an almost game-breaking bug that I encountered partway through the moon of Nar Shaddaa. After a quest, I didn't get an item required to move on with the story and rescue my jedi, so I had to use the command console to skip forward forcefully. But I admit, those are quite small qualms for me, and overall I think more people need to experience this masterpiece!
