Ukrainian localization
Hey, just wanted to drop a quick message about Threads of Time. It looks awesome, and I can’t wait to play it, but it'd be great if you could add Ukrainian subtitles. It’d really mean a lot to the Ukrainian gaming community. Thanks for considering it!

Dear developers and publishers. Your game looks great, please add Ukrainian localization so that we can play in our native language. Or give access to the files so that we can make a fan translation. Thank you!

I see Russian as supported language. If you're not good at, English, simply use Russian. Problem solved.

I don't see how the russian language connects to this topic. This is tone-deaf whataboutism at its finest.

Given the current situation, suggesting Ukrainians should just use russian is not only missing the point but also pretty insensitive. Ukrainian gamers are asking for their language, in their country, for obvious reasons. It's not about ability, it's about choice and respect.

"The current situation" doesn't change the fact that Ukraine is a truly bilingual country.

I'm not even trying to be edgy or making snide political remark.

It's not insensitive to recognize the fact that Ukrainians are bilingual when making a decision on how to best allocate and prioritize the limited resources of an indie development studio.

Calling Ukraine 'truly bilingual' oversimplifies a complex linguistic landscape. Many Ukrainians are indeed bilingual, but that doesn't negate their right to choose their preferred language, especially now.

This isn't about resource allocation - it's about respecting a specific request for Ukrainian localization. Dismissing this as unnecessary because 'they can just use Russian' misses the point entirely and ignores the current cultural shift.

If resources are limited, that's a separate discussion, but defaulting to russian isn't the automatic solution you're making it out to be.

P.S. And let's be real here - equating 'bilingual' with 'happy to use russian' in 2024 Ukraine is not just misguided, it's willfully ignorant of the massive cultural and political shifts happening right now.
