looks cool, is fun, but completely abandons the original story and the entire setup in the first game for a sequel. they just said that the guy from the first game died and forgot about him.

This is another game I played when Blockbuster was a thing. I rented it for my 360 at the time and I never got to finish it until recently. I decided to do 100% and get all of the achievements too.

Honestly, I don't think it needed a remaster but I don't know if the original had any problems.

The most "YEAH BRO!" FPS game I've ever played, but still a lot of fun. A much more streamlined version of the original Crysis, it's really just an excuse to be a super soldier with stealth abilities mowing down aliens and cliche-ridden stereotypical marine bros. It's fun, good shooting, good playing, nothing too crazy. Better than Crysis 1. Get it on sale.

Crysis 2 might be simplified, but that doesn't make it a bad game at all. Keeping the formula of the first game whilst streamlining it and going for a more typical shooter gameplay-style, Crysis 2 continues to push game graphics, serve as a benchmark for new hardware, and be a solid game beneath the looks.

However, I actually find myself jiving with this more than the first game, because although it's streamlined, and though I admit fans of the original's harder gameplay won't like that, I think Crysis 2 is far more successful at making you feel like a badass controlling the battlefield with his Nanosuit. You can spot different tactical options you can take with your Nano Vision, stealth kill enemies with your cloak, and kick cars with your Maximum Strength. It's some of the most fun you will ever have with a video game, and I guarantee that you'll be having the time of your life whenever you strategise on the fly and cream entire battalions when you know what you're doing.

And graphics-wise? It might not be the Lingshan islands from 1, but the apocalyptic Ceph invaded New York is splendid to explore, especially with Ray-Tracing on and some genuinely great carnage in the scenery.
Bottomline, it boils down to this: You NEED to play Crysis 2. It doesn't matter if you don't play 1 beforehand (2 is mostly standalone barring the character of Prophet and unlockable flashbacks to the first game's events), Crysis 2 is the more accessible and fun Crysis game IMO. Put on your Nanosuit, grab that SCARAB rifle, and enjoy yourself some good ol' fashioned sci-fi action.

A great looking single player FPS with plenty of epic moments.
