Just wondering, mind explaining "ruined it.."? I'm curious.
Perhaps I got carried away with the "ruined" bit, but it's definitely a disappointment. And one that will keep me from buying. I'm sure others as well. Game looks too good to fail due to this. Again, IMO.
Oh, and while I'm at it. Controls are the single biggest failure of modern games. I don't know what the controls will be, but 100% key binding and the fewer keys required is a huge plus. Makes or breaks the game really. I know, for my part, I can happily tolerate almost any game if the controls are simple and intuitive. As an example, I was very excited when I purchased Kingdom Come, but the controls were so bad I had to refund. Same with Dying Light 2, No Man's Sky, and a dozen others.

As for the controls? I think that's not so much an issue with "modern games" as it is with the games you listed, Dying Light 2, Kingdom Come Deliverance, and No Man's Sky are notorious for having convoluted controls and invasive UI.
This seems rather simplistic by comaprison; not saying it's bad, like I say, I actually like most of what I've seen about the game, only thing I'm really concerned is how will they balanced the over the top strategy elements and systems, with the third person shooting, action packed over the shoulder camera perspective.
Too many games, trying to do too many things at once is a recipe for disaster. Then again, I did like this developer's last game, so maybe they know what they're doing.
I will say that when you are in the middle of a massive melee it is harder to have the reduced battlefield awareness of an fps camera.
lol, just go look at Helldivers 2 if you think Shooters are Failing bcs of Third Person View.
Which is exactly why I say shooters should have both options to appeal to both sides. At the end of the day it's a business, and businesses want to maximize profits.
also fps does not equal like real life cause field of view. you see about what is normal for a human in 3rd person and you have a narrow vision in a fps
