I've been stuck for over an hour. I'm in the apartments at the beginning. I don't know what's next because I don't know what the next place to go or thing to do is.

I have the following:
-my revolver (plus ammo) and the radio and lighter, of course
-the makeshift club
-the key to room 2.3
-the claw hammer
-the long key ("spare gate")

The most recent thing I did that felt like progress was use the damaged battery to dump battery acid on the base floor lock, melting the expanding foam. But the long key doesn't fit the lock, and the key card obviously doesn't. None of my items do anything to the lock, or to anything else I can find.

I genuinely have no idea whhere to go. There's the key that I can see through the floor, but that room on the floor below it is barred, and I don't have any, like... fishing lines or long sticks, to fish it up. I hear really intense wheezing and rasping near where I found that battery, but none of thhe enemies in that floor are active (I even burned one of them). Can't find any items, and the "we used to be happy" map clue doesn't seem to be relevant to the two floors I *can* enter.

Please help.
