if you want this game, I will tell you everything you need to know. This game is REALLY hard for newer players, but you will figure things out eventually. Do not think this game is dead because of classic mode, everyone is playing all any, but nobody will care if you are new in all any mode. but otherwise, its a really fun experience and even has a few funny moments!

This game has changed so much from what I remembered back in the day... There is no space for new players
I played one game with my 3 friends and as soon as the game started the text box was flooded in messages that were abbreviated so heavily in game specific lingo that it was impossible to figure out what was going on.
When we asked everyone to slow down for us we were told we were throwing the game and some of the people in the lobby reported us.
Then when we were dead other players finally stopped abbreviating-to insult us for being incompetent and for not watching youtube videos and learning the game that way before joining the game?
Honestly this game seems to have developed a very specific group of die hard players so you shouldn't even bother unless you're willing to take the time to learn from youtube videos first.

Players are all over the place and wanted to kill anyone over the smallest things. Hate it.

My favorite part of this game is how purchases don't work half the time and your suppose to use Discord to sort it out. Coupled with the constant server outages and their official discord likes to downtalk the playerbase... I would stay away from this game

Just like with ToS 1, the entire playerbase has a combined IQ of 0.
Every 4/5 players are legit in the game just to gamethrow.
All gamemodes besides "All Any" are dead.

Basically even though the concept is nice, the playerbase around this particular game is worse than the playerbase of LoL, Dota 2 and CS2 combined.

Almost 4 hours, and I've played 6 games. 1 of those games I died n1, 3 I died n2, 2 I got voted up for bad logic and hanged even after full claiming on day 2.

"1 asks for tplo day 1. Me, the tp, visits 1 night 1 but blocked by socialite. Socialite says I must be evil since I tried visiting 1 and nobody else claims tp."

If it didn't take around 15 minutes to queue for quickplay, and if I could play more than one round every 3 hours, it *might* be an ok game, but since I can't really experience much at all outside of the community slinging insults at eachother and shooting the confirmed town/tpower, I'm gonna have to say no to this one.

Oh also the settings menu doesn't fully load on a fresh install and you need to restart the game to see certain options. Minor thing, but the game has vsync by default, and turning it off just uncaps the FPS. Normally I wouldn't care, but the game actually uses a fair bit of my GPU when it is trying to show all those UI layers and text at 165 FPS. The default volume is WAY too loud. Sometimes the game launches behind the desktop taskbar, and without any toggle in the settings, requires using alt+enter to toggle windowed mode and again to go back to fullscreen. Not sure if there's any kind of punishment system in place for people who abandon the games, either. I know there's a report system, but there should be some form of light automation for stuff like that.

And there's way too much in the form of microtransactions. "Buy the full game (which just means removing the daily limit of 5 games, and allowing access to buying more microtransactions), buy the full game plus more coins, buy the full game plus even more coins, buy skins and housing decor, buy pets, buy death animations, buy consumables to (supposedly) increase your odds of certain roles/factions, buy a permanent upgrade to make those scrolls increase your odds even further (still doesn't list the chances)."

2/10 Game is dead, and maybe 20% of those who are left are super toxic. Way too monetized, and I've already noticed a handful of bugs - some small, some annoying, but nothing major at least).

Paid to play it at release, because I loved the first Town of Salem. Unfortunately there were barely any players upon release so the company decided to make it free to play but guess what? Microtransactions and battle passes. Just don't bother.

Also, there's some positive reviews by bots so take that as you will.
