it was ok kind of fun but too much repetitive without a clear objective. In the same dynamic, I have liked more "dome keeper".

I played this game as a escape from the games that I play regularly. Took me 30h to 100% this game. Was super fun and would recommend

Mining games are satisfying by default. The base gameplay of destroying blocks in this game does feel good, but everything else falls short.

The combat doesn't feel good to play with a really zoomed-out camera that takes you out of the action. All you do is shoot a basic turret that feels unresponsive because of the camera. Since you cover a big area, the turret is less accurate the further your target is.
You do unlock a homing missile with a relatively long cooldown, but the only mechanic it adds is that you press a button once when it's available. You'll only do this once or twice per wave. There are no interesting upgrades that actually change the function of your turret, like having 2 of them or whatnot. For a game that lets you control a big spider mech, it really feels like it's not using its full potential. Idk why the game doesn't let you upgrade the mech much more with more weapons that actually utilize it as a spider. Being able to load your mech with multiple kinds of guns would make this a lot more fun. Having a melee attack with its legs would make the combat a lot more dynamic too.

There are a lot of downtimes in the game where you'd be moving in empty spaces, either with your pilot or the mech itself. This does get better the more hours you put into the game as you get permanent upgrades like increasing the mech's move speed, but I honestly think the grind was unnecessary. All it does is make the starting hours of the game a lot slower and make it a grind. Coupled with each run feeling the same, I already got bored of the game on my 3rd run.

I did beat the boss on the last run I played, only to find out it wasn't the actual end of the run. Instead, it resets the 20 mins clock, and the game makes you play the same thing once again. What made this all the more terrible is that I already mined out all the available mines for those first 20 mins, so I had to crawl for like 1-2 mins just to find a new one. And guess what? The enemy wave timer was already over by the time I got to it. I was already beaten up by the boss, and the game didn't even give me any chance to actually heal and prepare for the next wave. As I said, this does get better the more you grind so you can move your mech faster, but this means those upgrades are an actual necessity. If a player needs them to play the game properly, why lock them in the first place? Just so players can meaninglessly grind and pad out game hours? This is just basic bad game design. Obvious design choices like healing your after a boss fight or signaling where a new mine has spawned would have made this a more pleasant and fun experience too.

The game feels very unpolished in this sense. It has a lot of cases like this that should have been spotted and fixed during game testing. The game is also just very unsatisfying overall. When you lose, it just gives a quick "you lose" message and instantly sends you to the menu. I watched gameplay to see how it ended, and the ending was also equally unsatisfying. The game just doesn't do a good job of motivating you to do one more run. It does a poor job of giving players any idea of their objective. I wasn't expecting I have to do another 20 mins of gameplay after the first boss and idk how much I even need to repeat that process. Even just repeating the gameplay twice is already too long when the game expects you to do the same exact thing.

I'm honestly surprised by how high the game's score is. It's definitely not a bad game by any means. Overall, it's serviceable, but it's very obvious how it doesn't realize its full potential. It also just pales in comparison to Dome Keeper. Rather than sinking your hours into this grind of a game, Dome Keeper would be a much more enjoyable choice. But if you've already played it and are just looking for something similar, this could potentially still fill that void.
