Good question. But if you're about Alien Isolation, running gets you killed there. What you do instead is circle around big enough objects until Alien run out of an "active mode" timer. It was about learning objects you can circle around to drain the active mode. Hiding or speedrunning was a gamble and it didn't work in all cases. You can also abuse AI blind spots, but this would be cheating..
