Oh boy, DCS World Steam Edition. It's like Top Gun and Microsoft Excel had a baby, and it's just as complex and thrilling!

A Coming of Age - DCS is the pinnacle of modern aviation combat simulation. Hold on to your G-straps and buckle in to bust the tower, Maverick! I've spent over 700 hours this past 10 months so it is probably time I write something for those of you considering this piece of magic.

I couldn't even dream of something like this back when I played my first flight sim (Gunship maybe?) on a C64. Truly amazing what Eagle Dynamics has done here, and continues to do as they refine and modernize the sim for current tech.

I highly recommend VR for this as it makes everything absolutely stunning and immersive. Turning to look over your shoulder in a dogfight versus cumbersome keys, or hat switches to fumble your head around just won't do anymore. The realism and attention to detail in this sim is absolutely heroic.

The negatives are - you'll want a good PC to run this in VR and retain good visuals and a stable framerate. They are still working on refining the code for better efficiency, as is evident by the most recent monthly update. Additionally, this is for people who want realism and to put the effort into learning and proficiency, not so much for casual gamers/aviation enthusiasts. I do not consider this a negative, but you should know what you are getting yourself into.

Having a background in both aviation (mil and civ), and computer programming, I am in awe with the amount of work that has gone into this software. From the fidelity of the airframes, to the systems, weapons, maps, etc., etc., etc. And it is constantly being improved upon and expanded.

Hit your afterburners and scramble your adrenaline! Hear the growl of your heat seekers and lock on to the best combat flight experience you can find for aircraft from the 60s to the 2000's.

this is the most ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ game to ever be programmed by a person, im ashamed that this is the only popular flight sim on the market.

The game is great as a software, and how it works. The level of detail is crazy! But in this sim world everything is fine cause you bombing npcs or shutting down another sim players. In real world with these machines Americans and Israel kills hunderds of women and children in Gaza, Libanon, and soon in Iran. Imperealism is the fuel of capitalism and uncle Sam needs your soul to feed his greed for money. Worst of all, he wants the souls of sinners he considers inferior to the average chauvinist American. Guys friendly advice. Stay in sim fighting. It's fun, and the science jets are awesome. But stop killing innocent people with these things!
