Welcome to 2023. Where people will post about not buying a game for attention.
Where people will not buy something because of something minor.
Where everyone else.... doesnt care about your problems.

The GaYmer spams pretty much every SQEX game with this topic.

I swear I see a topic like this on near every game that comes out on here and i'm starting to wonder if they're all the same dude using an alt.

I see they haven't changed either.

FF7 Rebirth didn't have it either, had to use some glitchy mod to get it working. Octopath 2 and Triangle Strategy don't have it either.

It's kinda crazy a limited budget series like Trails has a group like PH3 developing amazing ports with 21:9 support, yet big boy Square Enix can't do it with even their AAA titles, much less have good PC ports.

RIP. Guess we will never ever know what is going on to the extreme left or right of our screens in the game world.

Take this as an opportunity to learn how to inspect memory addresses and modify values to get the desired results, Gamer.

Why do you even need ultrawide on a game made for a 14 inch CRT TV. Oh man I get to see more of... the main map? It wont matter in dungeons, battles are zoomed to be a set ratio...

Get a grip and stop asking games from the 90s to be updated to 2023 perfect graphics, ray tracing, HD 120fps with 16x antialasing. Its perfectly fine to have games that don't cater to your expectations, especially remakes of really great JRPGs. Go donate your money to a company that wants to charge you more than the base game for cosmetics or a season pass.

As much as I enjoy ultra wide, I've gotten to the point where if it came from Japan, there's just gonna be no ultra wide support. Though, I do find it funny how even indie games with a price tag of $10 developed by 3 people can fully support ultra wide. This isn't the exception either, as it seems most indie games I've purchased support ultra wide.

I have a 32:9 aspect ratio and had no issues playing the demo of this game. It has black borders to the left and right, and runs in 2560x1080 (my res is 3840x1080).

What's bad is when companies make games that do not scale well on ultrawide, where things get cut off the top & bottom. With most games there's some kind of work around, but unfortunately that's usually when you have to run it in a window of 1600x900 :(

I am very tempted to buy this, as I absolutely loved playing it on the PSX. Top notch game.

What a crybaby. If you can't tough it out like a big boy then wait a week and download the mod that fixes it.

I'm pretty sure this topic is about the remake, which clearly wasn't made for 14 inch CRT TVs.

Except this is a 2023 game, it's a complete remake and actually supports HD resolutions, 120FPS and 16 AA. OP also never asked for ray tracing, instead they complained about something that's actually quite easy to implement for S-E.

Having Ultra-Wide support in a Unity game isn't rocket science, the engine makes it pretty easy to implement, there's likely going to be a mod that will redeem this but why do we always to have to rely on modders?

Buy a proper monitor that suits gaming: 16:9.
Volkyz 14 Oct, 2023 @ 3:07am
I think the main problem with ultra-wide in a game with static perspective in the cities, meaning that you can't rotate the camera, is that the game probably don't have any details beyond what a 16:9 perspective can provide, so you would just be staring at an empty space at the border of the game, what would probably break the immersion for players, just saying because I think you people don't get it that the issue isn't just scaling the screen size.
