I mained Accel Axe in Explore, and see ZERO reason to have it in main series without it being completely stripped of it's identity. The whole premise of the accel axe was that Explore had touch screen controls, and Accel Axe basically gave your UI an overhaul so that you had more control over your weapon with touch controls. It worked well for Explore, where similar playstyle weapons like hammer didnt have full control via touch screen, but it needs touch screen to really work well. It'd be honestly better being in Now.

I wish hammer weapon can get several combos from Accel Axe. hammer is an underrated weapon.

Accel Axe just looks like a hammer skin like the Ignition great sword.
