is rocksteady mantle back?
from what i have seen in the last ign first gameplay, seems like olivia is wearing it. thoughts on rocksteady being back? personally i enjoy using rocksteady with GS, but im not sure if im happy to see it back

Yes.

All the SWAX ZSD cheesers are rejoicing.

It is back, and rebalances indicate that it takes 10min to recharge now, rather than the previous 5. So with a good player, it would get used once.

Funnily enough, Wilds dunked on ZSD cheesers by just making other moves stronger, and giving a few other moves hyper armor. There's a mantle thats been datamined thats new that will be the new meta mantle, tho.

zsd has built-in protection so you can't be thrown off anyway.

Nope, Frenzy Mantle. It seems like an upgraded Frenzy Pill from Gen.
I don't really get why people like rocksteady so much. Just don't get hit in the first place by using positioning, and when hit I often would rather abuse the iframes you got from getting hit. Maybe it's just my playsyle but outside of like ZSD spam (which isn't even really gonna be a thing in Wilds), it ended up being more of a determent than a help.

It's because it doesnt matter if you get hit, you dont need the positioning. I hate ZSD spam, it killed a lot of the flow with the weapon (which thank God Rise quickly fixed that by buffing morphs), but Rocksteady as a whole is just, overpowered. The nerfs it got drastically increase the recharge time, making it a 5min recharge vs World's 5min, so hopefully, should we see mantle+ again, Technician wont be slapped on to make mantles spammable.

Maybe it's just me, but if I get hit with rocksteady I tend to get hit again because of it. Then you waste time healing instead of dealing damage unless you're using safi armor. Then your hunt times go up, and you end up taking more damage because the monster has more time to hit you.
Temporal put you out of danger if you messed up, and evasion helped you kill faster meaning the monster had less time to hit you, so that was the combo that I used.

Rocksteady reduces a large chunk of damage taken, so you could just facetank with it. With gunners it's probably different, but on blademaster, you could facetank just about everything.

World had a skill to reduce cooldown for Mantles, what makes you think we dont get one in Wilds?

I doubt they get rid of “maintenance” decos.

Maybe not let us slot decos on mantles tho.

FWIW I have 1700 hrs in World and only have 4 lvl 1 maintenance jewels.

From my understanding as someone who didn't use it either, Rocksteady was best for Topples. You could grapple and launch the monster into walls without worry of being knocked off. At least that's how I think it works based on footage I've seen of people using it, I barely used mantles

World had a skill to reduce cooldown for Mantles, what makes you think we dont get one in Wilds?
The difference being that in World, it would reduce 5minute recharge to a 3minute recharge. That's a massive drop. If they were to return unchanged, it would be a 10minute recharge, reduced to an 8minute.

Slotting decos into mantles was the stupidest ♥♥♥♥, they should remain as tools, nothing more.
