WWS discord hacked (UPDATE 7/1/24 NEW SERVER)

For folks not following the devs on Twitter or in the Wadjet Eye server, James Spanos / Dualnames' account is currently hacked and the account has banned the other devs from WWS along with anyone mentioning the hack. Don't open anything from him on Discord until this is resolved! Best of luck to the team.

EDIT: As of July 1 a new WWS server is being set up, the new invite from the official website is https://discord.gg/hE9T3JECAH and efforts are being made to recover old content. Hooray!

I hope the latest update isn't connected to this hack in any ways? It's kind of weird to see that this game still gets updates..

The game still gets updates and fixes and has for years because the devs are rad. Nothing but the WWS discord and the old Dualnames account for Mr. Spanos was taken. The team is still on the Wadjet Eye server.

The hacking issue has still not been resolved as of today. Apparently the hacker is still in WWS distributing malware disguised as new games and telling people "he" needs thousands of dollars for medical bills. So anyone who knows anyone still in that server, please try to get a warning to them and stop new people from joining it. The team has also asked everyone to report the stolen Dualnames discord account and try to at least get it banned to limit the damage to other discord users.

Again, that's WEG discord good, WWS discord bad. Non-discord is also fine. I wish everyone the best.

Correct -- no concerns about updates to the game. The hack is limited to the James's Discord account (and the Wormwood Studios server that he created). The patch fixed a translation issue.
