I'm on the third room where the floor drops & no matter what I do it wont let me pass

This scene does'nt work on my game; I just can't jump on any platform and when I'm dead, if I choose to continue, I start on the same scene even in the arcade mode, what should I do? Does anyone else have a problem with the 9 level platform scene? I cannot get Dirk to jump off of the platform. At first I thought it was just me, maybe my timing was off, I probably just need to practice it a few times. Well several hundred times later, I still can't get off that falling platform. I understand the concept, I've passed the 3 level versions. I've tried using keyboards, controllers, mouse, track pad... none make a difference. Like 75% of the time the game doesn't show the prompts that I need to press, and the 25% of the times that it does... it sometimes doesn't react. What is going on? And where's the settings????
