I'm hoping this is due to still being in "Early Access", but the game loses its fun factor pretty fast. You're always pressed for time, so runs always feel unsatisfied. There's something missing that keeps me wanting to "do one more run". The Upgrades also feel unsatisfying since it's mostly +1% in X. It is just not scratching that itch after 20 patient hours of giving it a try. I'll give it another try once it fully releases.

If you love DRG and are a fan of Roguelike/Roguelite's then there's nothing else you need to know.

i have some mixed feelings about this as the game feels and looks very polished, has clean UI, nice sounds, a solid variety of weapons just good quality in general and i also like the new game modes, but the base gameplay can often be tedious and has some unexpected design decisions i want to highlight in a few points

1. why does the 30 second pod timer start when you kill the boss (main objective of area) instead of when you want to (like pressing the button on molly for example), wouldn't be fun either in original DRG if button gets autopressed regardless of everything. the reason why this is especially bad is because my gun, upgrade and pathing choices always revolve around how do i not kill the boss too fast so i can mine and level up some more, because you'll get punished for finishing too quick and be worse of in the next stages

2. it feels like main game progression mission objectives and steam achievements got switched up. i don't care about steam achievements yet got all which means all can be aquired by just plaiyng the game without having to go out of your way or making unsual choices. on the other hand you have the main progression objectives to unlock higher hazard levels which have very specialized requests and you absolutely have to go all in on those and sometimes even have to rely on luck for the right upgrades

3. the mastery upgrades (meta progression) are only extra stats that offset a few hazard difficulty levels, they don't affect the game in a meaningful way other than they pretty much needed for hazard 5, you can't tinker with them like in a skilltree and i would say having a meta progression and 5 hazard levels is an improvement over vanilla (no meta) and 3 hazard levels but it doesn't change much in the end, the best it can do that comes to my mind is enable you to reach a few more character levels for a few more upgrades for a bit more build options. the new game modes on the other hand can be a lot of fun because they change the way you play and you feel the difference in gameplay not just stats, the different biomes aswell are well distinguished and impactful

This game is an excellent addition to the DRG universe, combining the intense, rouge-like shooter gameplay we enjoy with a new survival aspect. The mechanics are simple to learn for casual gamers, and the added survival components give an exciting dimension of complexity. The game requires you to manage supplies, fend off waves of enemies, and cross different terrain keeps every session exciting and unpredictable. If you liked the original or enjoy games like Vampire Survivor, this one is well worth your time!

I did not play the original DRG, but came into this looking for something to follow-up Vampire Survivors! This game absolutely gives me the "one more round" kick I'm looking for!

I hate bugs, dwarves, mining and caves in general. But this game, this game I love. That should tell you all you need to know.

This reminds me of alien invaders 20yrs ago.. I must say that the Devs definitely put alot of effort on this. for this price range and awesome gameplay it is crazy!.
