This is the original 1997 POSTAL, an addictive isometric shooter where you basically go on a rampage and massacre everyone on sight. Well, you only need to kill the hostile NPCs, but nothing prevents you from killing civilians as well. While it may be controversial in nature, it’s not too graphic, mostly because the graphics aren’t great.
It's easy to pick and play, since stages are short to complete. There’re 22 in total, including all the originals and add-ons. There’s a lot of replay value though. Some achievements will require to play the game in a specific way, and some are hard to get.
Gameplay is fun, with a variety of weapons to choose from. It’s not super fluid, but it’s good enough. You can also play it with a controller as a twin-stick shooter, although I found it better with the precision of a mouse.
Currently, a remake is also available, POSTAL Redux. And while it is the superior version, it doesn’t completely devalue the original POSTAL, because it’s now available for free, without caveats. And while I can recommend the original, if you can grab the Redux version on sale, that is the better way to spend your time.
