I've completed what is available so far in the tutorials in Early Access and I really like what is here. The tutorials are informative and have nice explanations. The quality and variety of examples and teaching materials is nice as well. At the time of this review it mostly focuses on lines and working from references. There are also tutorials for a snake game (pretty straightforward since it's just decorating basic shapes) and a pinball machine. The pinball tutorial basically has you make parts for a pinball machine game and plug them in--not necessarily my thing, but still thought it was a fun exercise and encourages you to play around with different lines and shapes with a focus on function.

So far the lessons are good for beginners, or a good review of fundamentals for intermediate pixel artists .

There are a few bugs, and I had to reset a couple of times when something failed to progress or I missed something on colors that were similar. Performance in the pinball tutorial can be poor (froze my application once). Not the end of the world for early access, but if those are going to bug you I would probably wait until further in development.

Overall I think this application shows great promise and the developer has built a nice platform on which to build future lessons. I look forward to seeing how it continues to develop. It's a cool concept and it's nice to have an "interactive" and gamified platform for this art style.

This is a fun way for me to review the basics of pixel art. I'm excited to see what new content gets added.
