Love to hate it. Easily the best combined arms game out there. Mad progression and unlocks. Undeniably addictive and painful. Huge dopamine rush when you actually kill something. What more do you want from a computer game?

This game will seduce you initially with it's amazing detail and impressive (most of the time) physics engine... However after you play a bit you'll realize how anti-fun and extortionate the live-service model they've installed is. You may feel pot committed to keep playing, but hopefully you'll just choose to spend your time playing something more fun instead. I can't recommend this game in good faith. 1 out of 5 stars for long term play.

Horribly unbalanced economy and unhistorical game play. I would much rather pay $200 for a quality tank game than to deal with the devs of this game and a clearly overpowered faction. Let us not even talk about the fact that I am facing helicopters and Vietnam war era tanks in WW2 tanks. Aircraft in ground battles are also incredibly unbalanced. No amount of skill will save you from the pay to win model of this game. Unfortunately, no other such game exists (yet).

In 2016-17 I would have said it was a game with huge potential and unique mechanics, far behind any competitors in all aspects. Now it's an outdated, buggy game with a lack of balance and normal innovation for a few years now. The maps are terrible, the graphics are terrible, the gameplay is terrible, the interface is terrible. The game may have looked great for 2013, but there's no point in playing it now for a newbie. Without global changes, War Thunder will soon lose its community and close. People are tired of empty updates with a lot of clones and donations instead of useful innovations, people are tired of maps and those clueless people who make them, people are tired of imbalance and toxic new tanks, planes and helicopters.
The game needs a complete rebalance, work on changing the visual part of the game, reworking the interface and controls, reworking all existing maps and a normal attitude to its community.

Once again, they ignored the community, opinion leaders on open platforms, and did everything their own way. Great job! This looks especially cynical after the public survey, for which I, like majority of active WT community, specifically logged into Gaijin website to prevent the game from descending into a vat of crap, but they going way down anyway. I hope that with another march of discontent we will reach out to people who make such strange decisions, cause in oposite a lot of players may decide to leave the project or at least lose former interest.

You WILL be placed in matches with people with better vehicles than you. You WILL be pressured into using your country's real life currency to buy virtual tanks to stay semi-competitive with the people you're placed in matches with. Seriously, the price of entire full-length video game for a single virtual tank. I just... what?

Just take up drugs or gambling if you want to blow your paycheck with no actual gain, your friend's won't think you're as pathetic as if you play this. Feels like an old CoD lobby sometimes though, someone is getting told to neck themself every other game. good vibes.

for better or for worse, you will want to die IRL when a plane kills you with such BS, 12.7mm should not kill a tank with 40mm of TOP ARMOR, fix your ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ GAME!!!
