The mix of randomization and design is what makes this game great.
Its got a good balance in its level tiles that both reward speedrunning and slow/careful play.
imo the rng is not inhibiting. Only the Dart Trap Block out of FOV is sometimes annoying. On very rare occasions a soft lock generates randomly.

My basic rule is to always keep one bomb for such a rare encounter.
(Unless I get greedy and have to use it up to get to that crate over there.)
