Liberation is one year old today and to celebrate I am sharing a short story set in the Liberation universe.

It's titled "Murder on MegaPlanet".

The last year has been amazing and the game has done really well. Thank you for your support! Please consider leaving a review for Liberation and also wishlisting my next game, Cell Sword.

Murder on MegaPlanet Synopsis:

By all appearances, Eden Towers is a standard apartment block on MegaPlanet. School pods are well occupied, elevator rage is under control, and employment is mercifully low.

Except Eden Towers has a big problem.

Its community credit score is dangerously low and nobody can understand why. if it falls any further the building is in danger of being recycled... with the 200,000 residents still inside!

So when a high ranking government official is found dead, the desperate citizens are forced to rely on an unlikely hero, a servo bot with the ability to clean up the crime scene.

However, B31-T12 has a dream of its own... to be the Galactic Federation's greatest detective.

"Murder on MegaPlanet" is a darkly comedic tale by Luke Miller set in the universe of Liberation, the retro space adventure from Classyk Games.

First of all I'm loving the style. A more focused Frontier Elite 2 is very welcome! I am especially grateful you can change from the low res mode. So many indie games make players suffer with 320x240 (looking at you Thunder Helix). Here are some suggestions from my first mission: A+B should be reversed on gamepad "Do you want to see instructions" is confusing when it only opens up the controls menu (rephrase?) Pitch is slightly too sensitive by default (360 controller) Music should fade in instead of bei...

Racing?

I'm trying to do the death race. How do I join it properly? I keep trying to follow the other ships, but I don't get any check points unless I go through the circle full of lasers. Then it says I skipped checkpoints and does a bunch of damage. If I follow the other ships, I don't get any other checkpoints, but most of the lasers go away. It still says I skipped a bunch and gives me 1 out of 8. How do I join the race? Can I even?...

Blake's 7

A big inspiration for Liberation is a classic but largely unknown (outside the UK) science fiction show from 1978 called "Blake's 7". It was written by Terry Nation (who created the Daleks) and the show runner was Chris Boucher (who wrote some great scifi too). The premise is basically Robin Hood in space. Anyway, it's a really interesting show. I didn't watch it until covid lockdowns and while the production is pretty cheap I do rate it highly. Graphical problem: objects are bright white

I'm having trouble with Liberation's Graphics every ship, station and planet are white without any colours unlike outer space. the exception is with planets which seem to have the intended colour when viewed from afar. altering the graphics slider doesn't seem to be effective, Is there anything which can be done? I have an i7-1165G7 processor and an Iris Xe GPU...

Next version

Hi everyone, I will be doing some updates to Liberation in the next few days getting it ready for a larger update in September/October. From my perspective I can't always hold back every single change to go live all at once as that is too much to handle. I don't expect any major bugs but I think the chance of some small issues cropping up is high. It'll be worth it! Luke PS Reviews always welcome...
