Like the title implies, they blend too much with the background color contrast/saturation. Some sort of animating circle around the item or an arrow pointing at the item on the ground for health pack/magnet etc would be a good idea to think through. I ve just finished a 40 minute demo session, and i really like the simplicity of the oldschool gaming graphics/icons/sounds. Simple, small , yet interesting project....
