Steamdeck/Controller help

I picked this game up again and tried to play it on my Steamdeck, docked, with controller as I did before and it does not work. The cursor does not show up on the menus, I could not select a game mode. I could not even shut the game down, I had to use the Steam menu to close the game.

Any suggestions? Nothing in my setup has changed since I last played.

Maybe a custom button layout from the community?

I have this same issue on the Steam Deck. Go into Settings via the gear in the upper right and enable Software Cursor. It'll magically reappear. The experience is not great but it is playable.

The invisible cursor is still there and will select UI elements. It will take some work but if you slam the analogue stick into the upper right corner and fuss around with it there, hopefully you'll see the gear light up as you do so. Then you can press A and stuff.
