Stock range is just fine. It's set so you have to work out ways to get good use out of it.

I don't think any of the range extending mods work on dedicated servers.

Me and my son have tried a long time ago and it was lowering the Perfo when activated so we stopped using, and I never used the Mods I have shared above so I recommend to test in a tesing world to see if all good.

IF you did not changed the world seed number, all ores are at the same GPS coords by default and I can share my Favorite areas to have all ores very early in survival :

Moon starts are the best because all ores -1 that is Uranium but 20-25 Uranium asteroids can be found faster around all Moons.

Also, a kind playter shared GPS coords in LCDs of Uranium asteroids around all planets and moons, that will lower the exploring time a lot :

Those two mods sound very useful.

Yes they can help a lot and we get used to our Favorite ares at some point so you will not need that Mod.

I go to the RIch ore spots (all ores close to each other) almost eyes closed, well some I don't need the GPS coords anymore but I can tell it takes time to explore the Star System world and find the best areas to build all the needed faster.

The short version is I am looking for an increase to the range of the Ore Detector . Stock range is way to short .

I have started going down Steams' workshop for this game and finding some Mod ..... some are a few years out of date .

One by one , installed the mod ( subscribe ) .... Start the game .... join my friends server and NONE of the Mods are working .

There should be a client side mod that works , by now .

In addition to what's been said, the mod has to be running on the server. When you join a modded game (or load a modded world from the workshop), any needed mods are automatically downloaded.

Configurable Parameters is my go to mod for this. You can configure your ore detectors to have whatever range you'd like. You can also use it to change how much ore drops per voxel, how much damage armor takes, etc with a few sliders.
