Honesty a really fun super robot hack and slasher, diablo-lite.

The mechs themselves are fine, mostly focusing on the 70s/early 80s styles of design which you may or may not find fancy.

The combat itself it fun and very customizable, with 3 mechs that you you can fully customize and switch mid combat, equipping them with up to 6 weapons you can bring into a mission (3 melee, 3 ranged) and 4 active skills from a very expansive skills tree.

The story itself is...there? It start up interesting, reminiscing of Evangelion but then it never goes anyway worth while. I say just treat it as saturday morning anime and rush through it if you want.

And honesty the biggest con I give this game is the difficulty, the early to mid game have offer nearly no challenge, not until the latter half of the game. Which I fear is gonna bored most people before they get there.

I have enjoyed my time playing this game. The endgame is filled with live service elements. DLCs are mostly skins. Difficulty during the campaign is more on the moderate side, some bosses especially the last bosses can be very difficult in megaton difficulty. The loop in the endgame dreadnought/boss fight missions is something I always come back to. The only thing I disliked is the difference of difficulty from Megaton to Megaton II, you'd have to check the weakness of the boss, then replace your mech, weapons, mods and motherboard.

Good:
- the story is good
- Boss fights/ Dreadnought missions
- Achievable achievements. The last one i did was the 50000 enemies one but it was fine
- Voltes V and Mazinger Z!

Bad:
- Gap of difficulty (health and damage) of megaton and megaton II.
- Grind of materials especially for upgrade.
- Music is below average.
- Camera when aiming is 40% back of your mech. After boss cutscene, you are looking in the ground most of the time. And the auto aim is in effect even if you turn it off.

Ugly:
- Cutscenes, on end game missions, it would have been good if there was a setting to turn them off.
- Most of item modifiers are useless, and some of them has no sense. why would you use an item that depends on you repairing, guarding or the worse one, destroying a part.
- Lack of players on the multiplayer pve and pvp side. Most probably tired of doing the grind.

I would still recommend this one if you are a fan of the super robots.

This was one of the best story driven game I've experienced in recent years.

I thought the game would have a meh story with some fun super robot combat that I could experience for a few hours. 99 Hours in and I was floored by the constant changes, twists, and new mechanics delivered through the story.
The story, though cliche anime in execution, was one of the best stories I've experienced in mecha games. Comparable to some of my all time favorite mecha games.

The combat is high adrenaline combat that starts simple in the beginning but become more varied, complex, dramatic and fun as the story progresses.

Honestly, if one can tolerate or enjoy the almost visual novel style of the game outside of combat and enjoy some fast paced super robot fun, then I highly recommend picking this up.

Great game with some caveats. I saw this game compared to Phantasy Star Online a lot and, to an extent, I agree but I would place it more along the lines of Phantasy Star Universe. Particularly the Portable series. You'll be grinding a lot for the equipment and affixes you're looking for and there are frequent events that boost the drop rate. The story is pretty meh and you'll need to proceed through it to unlock new mechanics which I can see being a deal breaker for some, but for me it was the post-game grind. Maybe if the areas were more interesting and there were more enemy types it wouldn't have been an issue but it's just boring to grind through in the end.
