Tokyo Game Show 2024

From September 26–29, we attended Tokyo Game Show at the vibrant Makuhari Messe, Japan. It was our first time showcasing a game at such a massive global event, and we were thrilled to be one of the 80 indie studios selected to participate.

Presenting Milord, Presenting Türkiye

For TGS, we knew we can’t come unprepared to the event, so our first priority was to add Japanese language to ensure our Japanese players felt right at home. For you to have the best experience, we polished the game, squished Milord’s bugs, brought turkish delight and other turkish sweets over 5000 miles and true to our Turkish roots, we couldn’t resist sharing a little treat with our indie booth neighbors.
Our biggest gift came from watching our players having fun playing Milord. Some ruled with grace even won in the end, and some… decided to cut a poor baby in half. I mean how could you?

An Unforgettable Community

We were prepared for feedback, but everyone in the event opened their arms with kindness and extreme support from day one. Even during the first days of TGS, we had the chance to connect with other indie developers and publishers. Sharing our insights and experiences with all of them was a reminder that, no matter where we come from, we’re all united by games.
In past events, we were usually the only studio rolling in as a family, making us feel like the odd ones out. But at TGS, it was heartwarming to see so many families enjoying the event together. From parents introducing their kids to gaming to multi-generational groups wandering the halls. A big shoutout to our little iBright Games boss who was miraculous at Tokyo Game Show.

Looking Ahead...

We’ve already started exploring new UI ideas to help you navigate Milord’s realm with ease (because managing a kingdom is already hard enough). Meanwhile, the story is getting more and more immersive—maybe it’s almost ready to unfold.
And don’t worry, your farmers won’t be pestering you about some ancient seed or rusty tools all the time now. More stories are on the horizon, and we can’t wait to see what kind of lord you become!

And fore and foremost, a heartfelt thank you to everyone in the TGS community who visited our booth, played Milord, or simply stopped by to chat. Your support always means a lot to us, and we’re so excited to continue this journey with all of you!

Demo Bugs

First try: If you have no actionpoints and granted a vessel to speak to me - then you are stuck. you cant end the turn or do anything. after quitting to menu to restart it doesnt change to the correct screen after selecting the winter demo (it only change the ui down and upside so that you could end the turn)...

Milords and Miladies!

Yes, we’re back already—just a week after our last update! But we couldn’t resist sharing some exciting news.

We’ve got another special announcement, and while it’s just the beginning of what’s coming, there’s plenty more to reveal soon!

Turn-Based Carnival Event

MiLord will be part of the Turn-Based Carnival event! If you haven’t had a chance to try our demo yet, now’s the perfect time to dive in and share your feedback with us.

It's always a great opportunity to see your reviews and feedback. Those are really drive us forward trough our game development.

What’s New?

You might be wondering if we’ve added anything new to the demo for this event, specially right after another one...

Well, while we haven’t made any updates or changes to the demo version, we’ve been hard at work behind the scenes.

Main Storyline

We’ve officially kicked off the implementation of our main storyline! Yay!

Well there is a lot of questions in the mind even from now I believe...
So Let's dive into that right away!

Will it be a linear story game? No! Main Story is just a part of our game-play, just like endless and dynamic ones. We'll be experiencing story while also dealing with our dynamically generated problems trough out our rule.

How can we effect the story and progress? We have a lot of mechanics that enables us to change the direction of the story as you progress and make choices so everything will be effected by choices as always.

Will I be able to create my own character and kingdom? Yes! You'll be starting the game with a screen where you can modify your Ruler, Kingdom name and Banners. So you'll be able to represent your family in the MiLord!

How does the Progression works in the story? We'll be starting as the Baron in some Village in our desired Realm. Our main purpose will be the becoming a Count by completing the story-line. As we progress trough the game, we'll be ranking up in the world.

Are there any differences in the Ranks? Yes! Each rank will have access more of the mechanics of the game. For example; while Baron can build new structures in his/her village, Count can build structures around the region and the Duke can found an entirely new settlements!

When will we see these? Right now, we are solely focused on implementing the story-line. We don't want to jinx it but let's say as soon as possible!

In the upcoming posts, you can expect to see more sneak peeks of the narrative, characters, and events that will drive the core experience of our game.

Milords and Miladies!

Has it really been two months since our last news? So much has happened since then, and today we’ll reveal some part of it. The rest, well… let’s say it deserves a post of its own!

Land of the Crescent

First and foremost, MiLord will be featured in the Land of the Crescent event starting on November 6!

What's the meaning of this for you? We'll have a public demo special for this event, Yay!

We have fixed most of the bugs that we've faced during TGS 2024. (Which we'll discuss in detail for the upcoming posts) So it'll be more refined gameplay for you to test our mechanics.
Be prepared for the Winter Battles!

So, stay tuned and mark your calendars for 6th of November and join us at the Land of the Crescent!

Translation Update

What's waiting for you in this demo? Well, MiLord now can be playable in multiple languages, starting from Japanese and Turkish! Adding these languages is still experimental, and we've first released it to our Alpha players. Then, these new translations will also be available in the demo with the Land of the Crescent event.

It’s exciting to bring MiLord closer to more players worldwide, and we can’t wait to hear your thoughts. Here is a sneak peak of how you can change the language in-game.

*We strongly suggest you to not change it during an active gameplay for now... xD

Winter Demo Almost Completed

Also we've almost completed the Winter Demo, so you can expect to have around 30-45 minutes of gameplay. Let's see if you can survive through out the winter, eh?

We have a lot more news to share with you, however, we wanted to separate them as a whole for another post, after the Land of the Crescent.

Really fun game!

Really enjoyed playing what you have so far. Can't wait to see more. Often times the events aren't favourable to keep your popularity (green hearts) high enough to make it to the end of the demo. It would be nice if buildings could help with this. Tax is a bigger negative than it ever is a plus, with how much popularity it reduces. The output of the town quickly overshadows the taxes. The biggest game breaking bug I encountered is sometimes when you're at the daily details screen and you click "next" it ...
