It is really cool that the GZW dev/mods are pushing community events.

I would be hard pressed to compare a four hour event to new content.

Edit: Plus what Mr.Fish said. This isn't on official event but something a user is doing that the Discord moderators are promoting.

And this is coming from a company that has made a total of around ~30 to 60 million dollars of product sales and "dlc" (depending on what "dlcs" were bought). But like I said they can patch this event in but can not fix and patch anything wrong in the game. But lets keep defending their actions I guess.

Patch what in?

It's a group of volunteer community members lead by TGxAltair, instructed to act as couriers of high valued items, there is lots of game items, game money and rewards of DLC game editions up for grabs.

What do you think is being patched here lmao.

There's nothing to patch in. Players are volunteering to carry packages that other players have to get. The couriers will be popping red smoke to simulate an DZ. Other players are trying to get those packages.

What did I not read right. They are adding containers to loot with "high end gear" around the map. But the gear will be the same ♥♥♥♥ that is in the game now that everyone is already collecting. Just because its not an official event does not mean they went out of their way to make it happen when there are more things to be concerned about.

🚚 CALLING ALL COURIERS 🚚
With tomorrow's event looming and the chance to win some great prizes, we're asking for anyone who wants to volunteer as a courier to get in touch.

As a courier, you'd usually be the one delivering the package for players to fight over, returning to base to set-up the next package and then moving onto the next location.

However, tomorrow will be something a little different. We will still be creating and delivering packages across multiple servers at the same time, but this time the couriers will be going rogue. The couriers will be landing at the drop point and then defending their position. If the courier manages to hold their ground without dying (and keep the loot), they get added into the winner's pool.

Couriers will be periodically marking their position with red smoke to allow players to see the drop point from afar (players will also receive their usual briefs).

So if you want to volunteer as a courier and get involved in some PVP then please let me know. The first drop will be 9pm UK time and we need all the couriers we can get.

High end gear is just gear that the event coordinator will give people. Mk16s, etc. And two people will be gifted an upgrade to the base game.

Edit: There is nothing to be patched in. This is all being done on the player side of things. The devs have nothing to do with the event. It's just being promoted by Discord moderators.

They straight up said major updates will come around every 6 months with patching in between. The game has barely been out for a few months, and it's early release at that. You buying a game that's in development, being bothered by it and not understanding the length of time it takes to make progress is nobody's fault but your own lol

So if they want to be accurate with their post and have it say that players will be holding the items and not have it say collect packages around the map. Then also in the picture in discord it says unknown package landing in the area. So is it players holding the items or packages dropped in the area?

The couriers have the package's they are not in containers, you have misunderstood and dreamt something up that isn't there, no where does it say, "we have patched high value loot into containers for you to collect"...

The title is literally GZW Community Event: Altair's Airdrops!, as described above by johnathan, the players will simulate the dropzones.

why don't you find out maybe before jumping to conclusions in future.

My bad I did not know I was supposed to read some random persons chat. It may be brought to the game by TGxAltair but I thought the actual company would give out decent details to the event being held in their game. But I guess not. Guess I have to get information about a game from non official sources to understand events happening in their game. So the event is even less lack luster because the developers can not even do anything themselves the community has to do it for them. Not sure if that is a better or worse look for them.
