no....this game almost ruined the great memories I had for it.

I even visited places in this game in pairs just because of this game. Such as Parc Des Buttes Chaumont.

This game was awesome, one of the best. this port, sadly, is not.
There are no graphic settings other than a gamma slider. It looks like aliased low res crap.

I know it's an old game but damn. And then it locks up your computer when you try to alt-tab. And if you quit....it just freezes. That was enough to warn me that this was going to be frustrating.

funk that...refund ticket sent.

What do you mean it has no graphics settings? There is a video setup option when you launch the game on Steam, unless you just skipped over it, from where you can set the graphics fidelity and resolution. You don't do it from the main menu in this game.

If the jagged edges are still a pressing issue, you can just force some Anti-Aliasing on with Nvidia Profile Inspector or some form of ReShade. This is the same solution as for many old games like this.

I don't know about the alt-tab issues since they are not on my end at least, but the rest seems pretty resolvable. Still, up to you whether to let the game go or not.

Plenty of topics exlaining how to set up the graphics setting to avoid crashing and freezing, but you chose to vent off steam instead of using the search bar.
mailer, did I stutter, no, I did not have any graphics settings. And I don't plan on buying any nvidia product just to play a 5 dollar game.

oh an cannibal, if you are so damn clever, make a steam guide, do EA's job for them.

the intended audience of this thread is for those who are thinking of getting this game. they will see those two stupid responses and come to the same conclusion I had...this is not worth 5 bucks. I want to play the game, not trouble shoot it.

welcome to my ignore list.

They will see plenty of topics about how to avoid issues and one thread made by a clown who refunded after 6 minutes.

only downside is the 60 fps cap. the video settings launcher is in the game files, check that out. choose the 60 hz setting or it won't work.

I had graphic settings; they come up before the game launches, as was explained to you.

I'm glad you refunded, though. You were thoroughly rude to those that tried to help you. Someone will see this thread and your asinine response to help and think you a fool.
Well, I'm not surprised he refunded, conisdering the game is an absolute mess on Steam

Plays perfectly for me. I do feel sad for those having difficulties, though.

I wish it did work well me as well, instead I get massive frame drops and weird visual glitches.

I don't believe you were around when this game originally released. You sound like a teenager.

I read the bit about "Set the refresh rate to 60" before I played it the first time. I did that, and I've never had a single bug or crash.

Don't spend that $5 all in one place.
sounds like someone is throwing a tantrum instead of using his brain...

Ron White said it best "you can't fix..." I got the free GOG version, None of the menus had video options, Only GAMA ? I did it in the save file .ini . Set it to 4k... tried the game. Grabbed a rifle from an enemy went to the first guy. Rifle gone? Drove untill I saw another grabed his. Drove to location, weapon gone again? Deleted the game . Overly scripted crap.
And when I changed "keys" The game showed to wrong key for that use. Amazing BS. Some of the worst script logic ever! Or Better yet "LACK" of script logic.

Bought a 15 year old game... True, very true, however it was put on Steam THIS YEAR. One would expect that, if they've decided to release it on Steam all of a sudden, they made it work out of the box and not released absolutely garbage... Which they did. It's not in the buyer's interest to figure out, why the game doesn't work and how to fix it, as it should've worked straight away, if it's being sold for actual money. Also, "refuses to troubleshoot"... I, for example did try to make it work, to no avail, it still plays like garbage, so no, don't try to put a blame on someone else, for this terrible port.
GenXGamer is right

Sorry steam i dont support EA any longer since 2010 and i got the DVD for 3 bucks already on my rack.
