It's pretty alright

easy to understand and amazing game. very balanaced and fair game.

This game is a perfect example of being shallow at the surface level yet unfathomably deep once you start playing and learning how to play. The developers could legitimately give AAA studios a run for their money if they ever created a newer, more polished looking game engine and allowed better control of armies during combat. Speaking of battles, the game starts off relatively slow, so you'll likely have smaller battles for the first few dozen of turns or so, but once you and the AI (or other human players) have decently sized empires built up then warfare really ramps up. You have to forge a careful balance of raising capable armies while also doing your best to have strong magic users, as magic during both battles and the overworld ramps up once you're in the midgame.
