A Hat in Time
Is it possible to Play the Game on the PS3
IT works on my Laptop ( to Kind for me to say) but IS IT possible to Play ON the ps3, but remember my "PC" IS Trash.
I think IT could work.
Or maybe I Miss something.
I am all ears, so please, Talk.
Thanks.

And unless the devs port the game with the source code to PS3 you will have no chance to do that by normal means. Given the fact that you can install Windows on a PS3 via Linux, it won't run very good I guess, and it is a mess to do.

there is no ps3 version

I know, but If I Port IT ON PS3, would IT then work?

I Like your answer, but IS there a Chance to Port IT in anyway.
There is a way to port games to others platforms, yes. But this means you need the source code of the game, and as we don't have it, only the already assembled code, it is impossible to do for normal users.

Next to the source code you need a software that auto-translate the source code into PS3 code (some tools or studio software can do that), then you usuall need to adapt or correct things manually (bugfixing for new bugs caused by the port), and then assemble it to PS3 code (to make it run more efficient). This way you will get a stable PS3 running version.

Even if GfB want to do that, while having and owning the source code, they have to put in a lot of work and might pay licence costs to Sony in the process.

How would you port it to PS3? That would require the source code and a PS3 dev kit. I mean, if you have both of those then...sure, maybe it'd work? But I seriously doubt you do.

I Like that Idea, but I Just wanna know If there IS a Chance, thanks for telling me.

There is. The conditions for that were put pretty clear.

To say, for you and me? It is not possible without breaking copryight laws by stealing the source code from them or reverse enginnering the code.

For the devs? Yes, it certainly is.

Will they do it eventually? Less likely, as PS3 market is too dead for the effort and devs moved on to other projects. There is not even a sequel planned atm, which would be more demanded by the player fanbase rather than a PS3 port.

specs?

if you can find a cheap gpu with 2 gb of video (even if its ddr3, rather than gddr5 or anything more recent), and have enough ram, you could play the game in low settings + low resolution (720), and still look decent. i think even with 1gddr5 gpu is possible to play, also with low settings, and also in low resolution.

ive done that a few years ago, and also with mods. few would run slow, mostly from using too many objects and or big textures; most mod levels and "extra features" mods did work well, without affecting much performance.

imo, it could be technically possible, but as others commented, it doesnt make sense, and would require a lot of work, reverse engineering (illegally, since it isnt free and open source), and "porting it" for low spec hardware would mean not only changing the code, and decreasing gpu related graphical effects, but also redoing all models with less polys, lower and improved textures, as well as other "optimizations". maybe a crazy tinkerer could do it, but imo most wouldnt spend all that time without a secondary goal (maybe someone studying how to hack hardware, and not only the game? lol).

another possibility would be if this hardware-hacker could figure out how to make a more powerful gpu run with a ps3, and also increase the ram. the ps3 cpu should be powerful enough for the game, but everything else isnt. this is amost as crazy as redoing the whole game for low-spec systems

anyway, many modern portable mini pcs for gaming already have enough cpu and gpu power to run well or at least decently this game; and i dont mean steam deck or similar, but cheaper, more or less half price, options with lower specs. also common mini pcs (specially some chinese brands with amd cpus) can be very cheap and good enough (plus work well with linux-steamos, so you can have most memory available for games, rather than feeding telemetry and tracking bs in windows; unless you use a heavily modified version of windows that removed all that, and that may not work well with everything).

imo, you should check mini pcs, if you need to upgrade your system and you are under a very limited budget.

OP just get a used PS4 or PS4 Pro they are pretty cheap now and tons of awesome games you can get for them still, even a lot of new games are still coming out on PS4.
