i really want to like this game. honestly i do.

buckle up.

it has a charming art style as a love letter to the days of early 3D mascot era, thought through design with both the UI, characters and graphics, and a tight margin for it’s platforming. too tight. maybe i’m just not a good enough gamer!! but it leaves me excluded and complaining at it a lot. here’s my gripes:

- no double jump: literal insanity for a platformer. essential for fine tuning jumps or going back on a commitment, especially when the game punishes you for falling off an inch wide surface.
- fall damage: it became an immediate turn off while getting my rear handed to me trying something to solve a situation and experiment but ultimately having gravity slap my ship. despite trying to mitigate the damage with skilful drill? sorry bucko. you’re getting punished for learning. which is not fun.
- seve controls like he is walking in porridge. he isnt twitch responsive and fighting the controls doesn’t present a challenge, it becomes a chore.
- lack of direction: I found myself bumbling around a lot looking for where to go next. it feels like a sandbox that wants to be a platformer. alexis is silly and easy to talk to but utterly unintuitive. talking to her twice?? to get the useful info is an unnecessary gimmick and not great for someone who can’t remember to take their medication let alone talk to the goat multiple times. just give me the whole picture in the one conversation please.

that’s all. there were other things like the sound design and the repetitive music and the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ louder than the sound of god owl, but that’s the biggest offenders.

like i said, i really want to like this game, but after 2.7hrs of wandering around aimlessly and being punished by fall damage for experimenting with the games slower movements, i can’t say it’s for me. i wish it was a hard copy to give it to a friend lol.

Dear BOGOSOFT if anyone on the team see's this PLEASE a sequel to this game would be so greatly appreciated! Corn Kidz is right up with Psuedoregalia in my top 10 games that I've played in the past 5 years
