I bought this game on GOG because I played it before, and it was on sale.
I can't remember having any bugs when I played it during release, which was a long time ago.

But now I'm playing on 1.7 35,398. I assume this is the latest version and it's the same on Steam.

Problems started when traveling first to the Freedom Islands. Sometimes my keyboard and mouse stopped responding. I could move around, but couldn't interact with anything.
I "solved" this by reloading a save game and being very careful with moving.
But now, when I want to travel from the main island to the Freedom Islands, it always crashes during loading screen.

I asked GOG for their help and waiting for their reply, but might as well try here.
The game worked fine until I started traveling to Freedom Islands and back.

EDIT: I had to use an older version to go to the Freedom Islands, and use the new version to get back. It was a bit tedious, but it works now.
