Item randomness and if/when to replace

So I read that not only are units in shops somewhat random, but so are items/scrolls.
Pretty early on, I found the Well of Mana belt item, that regens a bit of mana per turn, which has been an awesome help, especially with even 1 point in Concentration giving me 5 mana back per turn.
Did I stumble on to something good, or do much better items start to show up at some point?
Is there a chance that due to the randomness, I could potentially miss out on some "best in slot" items?
Not too fussed if so, since I think I'll play through a few times, but it'll be good to know for future runs.

Yes, that's a useful early game item, and yes - most things are randomized. I think most items do get seeded into the game, but randomly in different locations. So they may become available anywhere from early game to late game. It's not a big deal, since hardest fights are later on.
Some items may not appear, but it's also not game-breaking.

for belts you are looking at that belt competing with an ogre's belt +4defense as the only other viable late game belt, if you have bad luck you could be wearing a runic sash into late game with +2 defense or something similar. so yes its definite good luck to stumble on that belt. mostly you will find good items in castles where you can buy them, and won't miss a chance to buy them later on when you have a budget that can afford them.

Very good early game item as boosting Concentration takes time and rune investment.

That's another great thing about this game the randomness gives it a lot of replayability. Your playstyle can change depending on what items and scrolls you find.

I do not think all items get seeded every game I could be wrong on that though. I've only seen the gear that boosts Thorn units in a couple of games.
