I originally played this game in 2015, replayed in 2025. This game was my introduction to Jane Jensen's work.
I haven't played the original GK (1993) but I did watch a playthrough.

This game is great, and I had a fun time being sucked into the world of Jane's creations yet again.

I did have a hard time originally getting into the game because of Gabriel and how he is, but honestly glad I pushed through it because he's really not all that bad. He shows a lot of growth by the end of the game, you watch him grow and change and it's great. Same with her other games including Gray Matter and Moebius, Jane's great at showing change and characters growth.

I really liked this game and it was a fun and wild ride. The writing is intriguing and beautifully done, the characters are all done very well, and I really like the music. Some of the music from this game is still on my favorite play lists.

I did notice from the OG to this version they did make a few changes, anywhere from adding or removing puzzles/changing the way some puzzles were done.
Obviously the VA's changed too. Which isn't a bad thing, but I can understand the gripe with Gabriel's new voice, not gonna lie I did have a hard time because the way the southern voice was done didn't fit him.

My biggest issue is still the mime puzzle, I remember having a hard time with it the first time and I hated that puzzle the most. When I went to go replay I was dreading dealing with that puzzle again. The second time the mime warped across the screen and the puzzle broke so I had to restart the game, but I got it on the second try.
So that puzzle still seems to be bugged.


I doubt things will change now that Microsoft has GK but here's to hoping Jane came make GK4.
I genuinely liked the game, and I think it's worth playing.
