What's the Purpose of Fake Quick Time Event?
Usually, when we have Quick Time Event, we need to press the button at the right time, or in the window of time, or else something that we don't want happens... In FNAF Into the Pit we DO have some QTE that, if we fail, we die and we need to redo the part... But we also have fake QTE that NOTHING changes doesn't matter if we do or don't the QTE. Why? Since we can't control the outcome, why instead of a QTE isn't just a cutscene?

I think it’s set up as a QTE since you have to immediately run away from Bonnie afterwards. And if it was a cutscene that changed to a chase maybe some players would not recognize in time that they have to manually run away? But then again there’s a cutscene when you get to the basement and have to quickly spam to not die so idk really.
Increase the tension basically. It's like a magic trick, it makes you think something bad will happen if you don't mash at the fake button. And with QTEs throughout the game, you gonna take the risk?

I agree, it does increase the tension, but the moment the player fails, it feels like a helping hand, like "Oh, since you missed the QTE, then I'll proceed anyways", feels like the game doesn't respect the player.
I failed it my first time and I thought Bonnie appearing was a result of that and he was going to kill me for failing xD
So I don’t think players see it as a helping hand and not respecting them- I saw it more as “I failed but still managed to escape” which made me feel good about my skills LOL.

Patronizing failures instead of punishing... Do you think that's good?
You failed, you should be punished for it, instead, even failing, you won.
This is the same as giving a trophy for the last place.

I mean. I'm not really a hardcore gamer. I'm here to have fun. There's plenty of other challenging things in this game.

I had fun. I got to feel good in a moment where I felt like I successfully escaped something bad with my heart pounding. Yeah i felt a bit silly when i did a second playthrough and realized the result is the same- but a second playthrough is just that. A second. My first time with the game was fun. That's what matters.

Not everything has to be super punishing.

It's impossible to reason someone out of a position they didn't reason themselves into. You are delusional and already made up your mind about this situation, arguing with you is completely pointless. The best I can say to you is: You are wrong.
