Developers committed the cardinal EA sin. Talked about DLC while still early on EA. This is the reddest of red flags!

So on the surface this looks like a really fun game. The movement is clunky, the graphics are pretty good. Playing on easy should be well ummm EASY. Killing the first pyramid boss on easy, lost 1 of my companions to god knows what, AI stupidity? Killing the second boss again on EASY, lost all 3 companions to AGAIN AI STUPIDITY.

Catching the drift here. The AI is severely lacking the I part. Getting hit, oh sure go ahead and drop your shield and stand there for 2 seconds applying a band aid. Floor spike hit you, no, no don't step off then apply the band aid, just stand on ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ top of it and die applying a band aid. Boss drop a puddle of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ goo, just stand in it and die.

The crafting is so incredibly ridiculously and unnecessarily cumbersome and complicated, it is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ useless. Want to set up minimum stocks, well you CAN, but wait there's more, it DOESN'T ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ work. You have to continually check everything to make sure it's still working, and if it isn't just delete it and re-enter it all. Pretty sure this is the first game I have played where EASY is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ harder than real life. No thanks.

SoulMask is a moderately immersive game where the combat and visuals are on par with some of the best games I have personally played. Though there is a fairly steep learning curve, having the updated tutorial is very helpful for new players to get to know the different interfaces. The public servers to play Multiplayer with friends makes the game far more enjoyable as well as being able to play a different game solo. The most recent update added the ability to "maintain stock" for crafting which is a HUGE value where you do not have to think about how long to wait before crafting. This key update and ability to maintain is HUGE! There is no shortage of challenges in the game. If you are looking for a survival meets a quest driven content - this has checked so many boxes for me personally especially the challenge aspect combined with exploration and visuals. Mounts and distance travel are especially fun once you get there within the game and very key to your success!
The only con is if you are not a player that likes a moderate to high amount of difficulty - you may find some frustration early on in the game.
