Elder Legacy

Duh, I missed the fact that the narration is only in Russian.
Glad I have fiber internet and the game isn't too big. Silly me! I don't have the patience to read games.

I could quip and say that American games are reluctant to translate voice acting into Russian and we have to read subtitles, but I won't do that. The more sounds the better. The more popular the game is among English-speaking players, the more likely it is that the game will have an English voice acting.
English is one of the most if not the most used languages in the world why would anyone translate an american game into Russian? If this game wants to make anything of itself it will need to be translated into English plain and simple.

100% Totally agree and the fact that the developers are saying maybe it will be implemented after stating in another post that it was coming on full release just shows how out of touch with the Steam community they really are thinking that the game will make it as only Russian language.. the game in it's current state isn't even that great honestly.. and way to short.. if they don't add English then the game will make it's way to the Hidden games vault to never be played again..

In recent discussions, there was no 'maybe'—I clearly stated that an English translation and voiceover will definitely be available closer to the release.

Well when you clearly say "WE PLAN TO ADD ENGLISH VOICES, BUT NOT 100%" yes that is a "MAYBE" we will "MAYBE" we won't..
You do understand that developers of large games with million-dollar budgets do not make full sounds, but you demand to tell exactly the developer of an indie game who does not know if he will have money just to buy food?

The more popular the game is among Europeans, the greater the chance that the right amount of money will be collected for voice acting. Voice acting in Russia is relatively cheap, but voice acting with English actors is much much more expensive.

Well if your releasing a game to the American Market then yes it 100% should have had English.. and if the developers are so broke to be worrying if they have enough money for food as you quote.. then they should have kept the game in the Russian Market until it was 100% ready..

The game is in early access and is available for purchase worldwide, unlike some American companies, the developer does not divide gamers into grades. The game has a demo version after playing which you can decide to buy early access or not.
The game has English subtitles, the quality of which will improve. Whether there will be English voice acting in the game will primarily depend on English-speaking gamers.

By the way, why do you decide for all English-speaking gamers whether to collect this game in the American region or not?

You're either very strange or we're talking about different things.
Games developed in countries with a different language than yours have two types of localization.
1) Subtitles, the game has translated all the text into your language, but the voice acting is left in the original language. 2) the game has translated the text and voiced the character's lines in your language. The second option is not used so often due to the price of voice acting.
So you're saying that if the game is not translated and not fully voiced in your language, then it should not be sold here?

I think what they mean is it will not sell in the us most people do not want to read voice acted games period. Especially rpg gamers.

It's clear. It's just wild for me to demand from an indie developer (who makes the game alone and generally could not voice the game into any language) a voiceover in your language. Let me remind you that the developer promised to make an English voiceover if the game is in demand in the English-speaking market.

For example, I like games like Red Dead Redemption 2 and Kingdom Come Deliverance, but it would never occur to me to ask them to do a Russian voiceover. These games must be played in the language where this game takes place and no translator will be able to convey the flavor in another language. Also in this game, there is a gorgeous voice acting that conveys a lot, and I'm afraid that even a good voice translation will not convey all the nuances. Russian Russian I will also remind you of the recently released game Atomic Heart, where the English voice acting, in the opinion of English-speaking players, loses to Russian and they put Russian voice acting and not English.

It's always surprising (but also pretty funny) to see native English speakers complaining about a game not having English voice over when subtitles are translated

edit : translated with AI for now so yeah not always that great, as other have said it, but it does the job most of the time (in both languages I tested)

I only speak english fluently and I really enjoyed my time with this game so far. My only wish is for the text to be translated to english, because for most of the game I didn't know what the skillstones were and got upset when they mysteriously vanished. Otherwise great game!

Yes exactly you got what i was trying to say not sure why the other guy didn't understand it..
Учи русский язык , в ГТА нет русской озвучки только субтитры, разработчики запрещают озвучивать свои игры из ГТА серии , вот и Древние Руси отлично и аутентично озвучена на русский язык , читай субтитры на английском или не играй .
