I've got the Best Game Design Award at Tokyo Game Show 2024!!!

“No Case Should Remain Unsolved” was exhibited at the Tokyo Game Show 2024, held at Makuhari Messe in Tokyo from Sept. 26-30, 2024.

The Tokyo Game Show has a section called “Selected Indie 80” to support the exhibition of selected indie games, and has selected eight nominees out of more than 80 entries to present their games at an event called “Sense Of Wonder Night (SOWN),” where they will receive awards.

'No Case Should Remain Unsolved' was also selected as a nominee for the award, and on September 27, I gave a brief pitch for the game at a separate presentation site.

I'm honored to announce that "Unsolved Case" won the award for Best Game Design, and I'd like to thank the judges for their selection, the attendees for their support during the pitch, and everyone I got to meet at TGS.

And the 'Unsolved Case'!
Nominated for the 'DISCOVERY AWARD' at 'SXSW Sydney 2024',
and nominated for 'BEST OVERSEAS GAME' at 'INDIEPLAY'!

It's not bad but the people praising this game as "making you feel like a true detective" have obviously not played many detective games.

If you're fresh off games like Obra Dinn, Golden Idol, Painscreek Killing, Unheard, etc. This game will not satisfy you. It's an interesting story with twists and turns but the gameplay itself is not very challenging. You can also beat it with all achievements in less than 3 hours.

To be specific, I think showing images next to the text makes the game incredibly easy. You rarely need to figure out who said what based on context. Just look at the image and you can easily figure out who said it most of the time.

Overall I liked it but I feel like reviews here are misleading. It's baby's first detective game with a fun-to-piece-together story.

You think you understand what's going on at first but then it hits you with some information and now you think over the whole situation again and again and again. Really great game.

I have to be that guy again. Gameplay was great, did not care for the story.

I was expecting something that leans more toward noir / thriller. Had I known it was a family drama, I would not have bought the game. I really did enjoy the game mechanics, it was clean and minimalist, intuitive enough to be playable and just the right amount of challenge to be fun. Gameplay alone would've been an 8 or 9 (if you like puzzles), but combined with the story, it's probably a 7.

Bug preventing me from finishing?

Without spoiling anything, I've connected nearly everyone's dialogue, and I have 3 keys and one little yellow pip. The only thing I haven't connected is the ex-English teacher's dialogue, I have 2 chunks of dialogue with a blank in the middle, but there's nothing to click on anywhere. I can click on some keywords, but they all say something like, "I can't remember anything connected to that." Is there something I have to do to unlock more of the ex-English Teacher's dialogue?...

Same Gameplay as "a normal lost Phone" ?

Intrigued by the premise of the game but, is the gameplay loop similar like "normal lost phone" which means much clicking around in said phone to uncover basic infos on the case you already figured out yourself. I also liked that one on paper but in reality it got tedious a bit. Anyone who plaid No Case already?...
